I think this says a lot. Mike wants more complimentary football. He doesn’t care about having the #1 ranked offense. This is good.

Finally got the real reason for the change. It makes sense too. It is very good news for people like me that have been wanting a more potent running game with a lot of play action passing. It sounds like McCarthy is wanting the same thing.

Like I said right after they let Moore go and brought in Schottenheimer and Solari: I think the offense will be ranked lower in the yards/game category… but will be better in the W/L column. McCarthy here says basically the same thing.

It was the reasoning behind bringing in Schottenheimer and Solari, both who are known for running an inside zone and using a ton of play action. The inside zone is a more physical running game than the outside zone that Dallas ran with Moore. Tyler Smith will kill it this year. His power is really suited to this blocking. Solari is very good with it. It is exciting.

And Big Mike is right… it will help the defense. Complementary football. It will also make the Dallas offense a more physical unit.

I am ready. If they draft an OL like Torrence or Schmitz, it will help even more.

yeah, why didn't fat mike take over the role last year? What an idiot. More talking fat boy.
Because he was not allowed to.

Stephen Jones said that MM made a very compelling pitch to the front office on why he should call the plays this year.

They (Jerry and Stephen) agreed and that openned the door for Moore to get out of dodge since he was not going to stay if he could not call the plays.

Excellent analysis bro, I am excited as well!!!

I could give a dam about that number 1 offense rating, what has all of those rankings under Moore accomplished? NOTHING!!!

Lets get back to some power run game, eat up some clock while our defense gets a rest, and maybe then Parson's wont be on a knee at the end of the game from being totally exhausted.

Yep. I feel like that was the team’s thinking in making all of the offensive coaching changes. Time of possession can make a huge difference. Not only does the Dallas defense get some rest… but the other team’s defense gets dog tired.

And the play action… having played DB against it both in high school as well as college, I absolutely hated play action when the other team had a good running game. It made everything so much more difficult.

A heavy dose of play action will absolutely help out the offense.

Man, that's a great quote for MM and something we've been screaming about for awhile. I hope we beef up this run game.

This was the same intention of Linehan for a mobile rookie QB, dominant o-line and timely over the top play action offense in order to protect Dak's limited skillset.
Although McCarthys lengthy playcalling history does not support a true run first, TOP offense your positive optimism is noted as always.
I would caution that possible saying and doing contrasts may actually come to fruition but I'm way more skeptical of lip service pressers than you.

It does sound good though.

I didn’t really view McCarthy’s take on it as lip-service. It sounded to me like finally, someone was just explaining the thought process behind the changes and was just putting it out there.

To me, it definitely rang true. It just makes too much sense, and the new coaches have a history of doing just what McCarthy said they are going to do.

But, to be fair, I am a more upbeat, X’s and O’s Guy.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. It should be interesting.

For the first time since the news first surfaced more than a month ago, head coach Mike McCarthy addressed the topic of him calling plays for the offense next season
Privately he said they'll draft RB Bijan Robinson and direct snap to him on all snaps. Always the same play and Bijan just decides what he wants to do after the snap.

They'll trade Dak for defensive players. Probably trade all other veterans on offense and replace with UDFAs since Bijan does not any help.

The only way you would know he said it privately is if you were there to hear it. There is 0% chance what you said happens. I'm sure Bijan would be great running the wildcat. He was highly successful at it at Texas.

that's the dumbest crap I've ever heard of.
Is Mike going to send in two running plays so shakey doesn't change out of the run?
