The one thing the Cowboys have needed is for Dak to be a true leader at the quarterback position. However, he came in under Garrett, and learned how to let the media blame others for his failures instead of leading.
With the West Coast offense, McCarthy's staple, it may well be that Dak has hit a reset, and the rigors of learning an entirely new scheme under a Coach that truly understands leadership has given us a brand new Dak.
We won't know until he actually faces a tough test, but for now it would be unfair not to give him credit for what looks like an improvement. From calling plays in the preseason, to Mike McCarthy demanding accountability, it is entirely possible that Dak is not the same quarterback from years past.
Let's hope for the best.

Jones' $160 million contract to retain him has not changed. Does that still trouble you? Just asking since an 'improved' Prescott will eventually translate into an extended contract.

Most of us knew last year was a results of a bad OC and only 1 WR. Dak’s the same guy he’s always been. One of the best QB’s in the NFL.

I've always been 50/50 on Dak. I think he's at his best rolling out and making plays running and passing. He has his very big highs and has some stinkers. That is reality with a lot of QBs. But I like this season. Doesn't have to be flashy. Doesn't have to be perfect. It's making the right reads and keeping things moving. I noticed against the Jets he rarely forced it downfield. Didn't have to. Take the 5 yard curl that turns into 15 yards after the catch. Take the quick slant for a 1st. I think that is the best thing. I don't call it bus driving because they is belittling. I call it just playing within the system and taking what is there. Last year we heard too much "well even with the picks he can push it down the field and make the mistakes to keep guys honest." We have a D....doesn't have to.

Jets defense was a "tough test."

I'm sorry that Dak is kicking your teeth in yet again, troll.

Not sure I understand what you're getting at? Are you saying that the Jets weren't a tough test defensively? IMO that is one of the tougher units the Cowboys will face this year and Dak and the offense delivered about as good of a performance as you could have hoped for.

If he becomes the quarterback he is supposed to be, I'm all for it.
But if he is still the choking waste of money that continues to cost the Cowboys he should be gone.
No more years and talent can be wasted because of him.

We do this every year,,, ask me what I think of the West Coast alternative compared to other offensive styles in November,,, or even better, in Jan/Feb.

If this defense was in place in 2016 Dak (and Garrett) has a Superbowl trophy.

I enjoyed Daks response to the comments about him not throwing an interception 2 games straight. It wasn't cookie cutter political nonsense.

'The quarterback he is supposed to be' is your criteria. Your criteria is not shared by the front office.

Permit me to rephrase. If the front office believes Prescott has improved from this point forward and automatically extend his contract because of it, will it change your prior dislike of his previous $160 million dollar contract?
