The guy will hold all the Dallas QB records and many fans are in a hurry to replace him. Be careful what you wish for fans.
woah...To hold all Dallas QB records includes 3+ SBs, he is in year 8 and so far its all BSs

I love and support Dak but the reasoning behind McCarthy's statement is flawed.

His prior quarterbacks didn't receive as much scrutiny because they appeared in multiple conference championship games and won Super Bowls early in their careers.

Old classic isn't it. Cowboys play one of the weakest defenses in the league including a dreadful secondary. Cowboys limp to putting up 20 points...Prescott is suddenly amazing and a top 5 quarterback. As someone else stated in another thread, this win sent back the franchise by 5 years as this quarterback will be given an extension.
when the QB rushes as much as all other RBs on the team... you have OL problems. yeah cowboys limped but lets focus on the real problem areas and not our agendas.

his other QBs? you mean Aaron rodgers? the guy who is a sure first ballot HOFer, with multiple MVPs? that guy? or did you mean Brett Favre, the other QB? who is in HOF and had MVPs?

so you are faulting Dak for not being Elite. that's the complaint?

well, welcome to the club. the club of people who know Dak is not elite. I bet this was a great revelation for you. you are welcome.

Yup.

The non-stop whining about how Dak is "treated" is ridiculous.

These articles/statements shouldn't even be posted on this site.
We've all seen the truth about Dak, and I'm sick of the kool aid being poured after every little bright spot.
If these statements were worth the sounds they make coming out of McCarthy's mouth, the last seven seasons would have all ended very differently.
But, they didn't.
Until they start ending without Dak choking away the important games, these articles/statements are useless.

so these articles from legit NFL people shouldn't be posted here.
but your comments should be, the guy who doesn't know how to describe what a LB does. oookkk then.

It’s the cost of doing business in the NFL.

Check out starting pitchers. Even average dudes make much more than rotational players because pitching, like QB play, is worth more.
Cost of doing business does not make it a winning business move. That's just an excuse to repeat the same thing everybody is doing that is not going to work.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on @MadDogRadio: “I love Dak Prescott as our quarterback. I think the way he’s built all the way through, obviously his physical skill set is excellent. But what he endures mentally and emotionally compared to the other 31 (NFL starting QBs) is unique. Speaking on experience of being around great quarterbacks (Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, etc.), I’ve never seen a quarterback under a microscope like he is. Just his consistency, his personality and work ethic, and how he handles all that, and navigates all that, and he goes out and performs every week, I think it’s special what he has to endure. … I think the intensity of the microscope on Dak, I’ve never seen anything like it. For him to be as consistent, his attitude is very much the same every day as far as how he attacks the preparation part of it, you have to be unique to deal with that. And this is Year 8 for him, so he’s been dealing with this a long time here. The intensity is nothing like I’ve ever seen.”

Romo was too...it's due to being QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Romo wasn't even drafted and should be an inspirational story with what he did but he didn't win a SB. How can he be overrated when he wasn't drafted? If he did the same on another team, he would be celebrated. I'll bet if Josh Allen never wins a SB, he still will not face this type of scrutiny

This goes with the all-time media hits of this year thus far including classics like "Coach McCarthy says he hasn't given up hope on the offense" or "Jerry Jones says this team can still win."

No Coach, GM or Owner in their right mind is going to ever come out to the media and say a player is garbage, a team is garbage or an offense/defense doesn't work.

Click-bait at best.

You say you love him but you ran the clock down on him.... hmmm
because the o line was getting pushed around and he wanted guaranteed points. it's not as if he didn't also go for it on 4th twice.

Uh, no.

And if that's "playing very well," we live by different standards.
He was the highest rated qb in the league as told by the beloved PFF.

I don't know what else he has to do to be considered to play well lol

Way to go Coach, fall in line and pamper Dak like he always gets pampered. Tell him how great he is that way he won't have a need to try and get better because you treat him with kid gloves. Change that diaper, Coach.
