McCarthy is a very good coach

Barry won a championship in college and a SB must have done something right .
In college he recruited very well. And dominated a conference with normally only 1 equal in Nebraska.

In Dallas he inherited the most talented team in the league, blew one championship and ran our dynasty down after the team won one despite him.

Cowboys got the best available at the time in McCarthy. Things are better at the coaching position than any time since Parcells. He has made a tremendous difference in areas where we were hopeless in the recent past. Areas necessary to win in Janurary.

You guys know how I feel about MM. It'll be that way until his HEALTHY team that he put together or has been with stinks.

I like how we can win despite having injuries at key positions
Yep. That is probably the best indication of a pretty good coach. It shows the staff keeps the entire team engaged and can adjust when things aren’t going perfectly.

dang right he is.
we have turned the corner to better days.

Switzer inherited a SB winning team. MM is making this team.
MM has done a good job so far, but a lot of the pieces were already in place. Especially on the offensive side of the ball. Dak, Zeke, Pollard, Cooper, Gallup, the whole regular offensive line and TE's were already here. It's different than the Switzer situation, but not by very much.

But that's just my personal observation and opinion.

Or....or the Cowboys are a very good team. Sorry, Barry Switzer always makes me hesitant on declaring coaches to be good. Is it the coach or the team always come to mind.

I still hate Barry Switzer.

Sorry but Barry Switzer. is a great football coach - not good but great

Opinions vary. He's a great college coach, yes. But some of the great college coaches didn't do too well in the NFL. So my opinion of him comes only from the NFL.

To be honest, I'm a Longhorn fan, so my opinion of him is bias anyway.

I like his aggressiveness and consistency. I love that he went for the two point conversion and when he called the time out trying to get the ball back before half. Couldn’t care less about sportsmanship, run that **** up.

The best things that MM has done as a HC here:

-Retain Moore and give him full control of the offense to call plays and stay out of the way
-Fire Nolan after one year and bring in Quinn
-Two great drafts and addressing the biggest holes on defense and the team

Those 3 decisions right there are the big difference to me. Three things that Garrett could not and would not do.

MM in game management is suspect at best.

Garrett wouldn't even play his backups. If he did, they were set to fail.

Parcells didn't care a tenth of a whit about the Cowboys or if he won with them.

Yeah, should've gone with Peyton, but that was partly because Parcells flatly didn't care and anyone that cared to look could see it.

Frankly, I couldn't stand Parcells. He threw everyone under the bus.

I prefer a coach like McCarthy over Parcells any day.

Wonder why he wasn’t pursued more aggressively after fired at Green Bay?

Looks like he has more success when he has an Elite QB and talent . Without it he has losing records.
The same could be said about Bill Belichick. Jmo.

big Mike talked Jerry into hiring Nolan.

Last week he was ripped a new one......Huh??? This is a week by week league......"on any given Sunday"......."Not for Long (NFL)". Slow down!

He’s a dam good coach. Nice to have finally!

Well then thank you, Bill Parcells, for completely turning around a dead franchise in 4 short years while not caring.
