The biggest issue is ST. On D you can get away with low LB numbers overall, but they generally make up a core part of ST. The problem on D is if LVE or Neal get hurt.

Cutting Jaylon was for morale as well. He wasn’t good, was arrogant, and was from the previous regime where accountability for bad play didn’t exist.

I am guessing "familiarity" with the system, but as you said, he's gone so even if they wanted to go back (doubtful) it's irrelevant.

This. Kearse and Wilson can play Keanu Neal's position better than Neal can. But ST becomes a problem.
