Who would you want more at this moment. I don't despise Mike the way I did with Jason, Jason was just a lifeless statue of a coach. Not saying that Mike has anymore life to him, but at least you see the guy show some emotion at time and not just clap. Who's your pick????

mike mccarthy.
•this f/o ignored dt and s during garrett's tenure.
under mccarthy...they started noticing it.
•moving martin out to ot...in game...i doubt garrett does that.
•starting undrafted terrence steele because...according to mccarthy...he earned it...would never had happened under garrett.
•the elephant formation...i wish he would bring it back...was outside the box we never got from jg.
•in my opinion...dak has gotten better under mccarthy.
•drafting ceedee lamb even tho we had cooper and gallup...i dont think happens under garrett.
•drafting micah parsons...under garrett...he'd say we got LvE...we got jaylon...we love our guys.
i dont think they draft 11 under garrett.
•mccarthy's vision of wanting defense with multiple looks...something we never got under garrett.

neither won a super bowl here...because they can't over come jerry the gm.
but mccarthy is far and away a better football coach in my opinion.

I have blasted Garrett because of his lack of creativity as a coach, which I believe held back what could have been an elite offense. But I think I have been a little unfair to him. Having Jerry as a GM means having to win with one hand tied behind your back. Maybe Garrett would have fared better with a better GM.

That being said, I think McCarthy is a better offensive mind. He showed that last year when everyone was healthy. His understanding of how to coach while not perfect enabled us to go 12-5 three consecutive seasons before this injury-plagued setback. I don't think he can get the team over the hump, but I'm not sure anyone can as long as the Joneses are running and ruining it.

I'd like to see someone else given a shot just because McCarthy has had his five years, but I'd pick him anytime over Garrett.

The only thing I like about JG may have been happenstance. We built the trenches and ran opposing teams into the ground during his tenure.

I can't say that was his vision for the team or not.

I did however like the fact we had a calling card when JG was our coach.

Besides that he sucked as a coach and he was an absolute snake in the grass. He screwed over Wade Phillips and he threw multiple others under the bus after each failed season. The man never accepted responsibility for his poor performances.

Doesn't much matter. Both were terrible until we got a better DC. What matters is who can build the best staff and who has the freedom to start/play the best players regardless of contract.
