I'm far from a doctor so don't take my knowledge on the subject too serious, but my wife works as a nurse at a surgery center that does a lot of sports related procedures so these are they types of conversations I hear about from time to time. From my understanding (and its a very limited understanding) you're absolutely right in how strong these things are at least for the average human. The issue seems to be that they arent the most flexible and struggle with a lot of high impact twisting motions which is why they aren't more common for athletes. Couldn't tell you if thats a specific type of material that has those issues, all of them, or how many different artificial ligaments are on the market right now.
I did some googling cause I was curious and as it turns out they did use Teflon at one time but apparently it didn't have long term staying power. They went to Gore-Tex for a while and now there are a whole bunch of new synthetic materials in play. I just remember the one on that documentary looked just like a human tendon. Only like 10 times stronger. But yeah I could see how flexibility could be an issue as we know normal ligaments have the ability to stretch and recover which I'm not sure they've ever mastered with synthetic materials.

He could have? Dude is still young I'd leave that up to him and GOD and speak more positive and say he'll overcome this
Reports are he ruptured several ligaments in his knee. This is worse than the last ACL he had. His career could be in jeopardy with this one. Not sure if it’s the same knee as last year but can you think of a young player who’s torn up their knee twice and became a great player? At the very least he’ll miss part of next season. It’s not real promising that he’ll return to from and be the same player he was. It’s going to be a long road to recovery just to get back on the field.

Have to draft and sign premium Linebackers for 2025 and not broke neck (vander Esch)), bad back (Clark) and one legged linebackers (see all the second round LBers drafted with previous knee injuries by the Jonesboys).
jones's love to sign injured players cause they think their great doctor they use who gives OK is good enough and several times proved wrong by time and play

KJJ---when i saw how much help he needed to get off field i knew it was very serious...often a simple torn ACL they can walk off on their own power

thanks John813----worse news possible....and i dont think his slim build had anything to do with it either....when you have a 300+ lineman roll up and twist that knee....anyone

would have been seriously injured
Pretty much. When it rains, it pours lately in Dallas.
