Reviewing some of the threads on the board over the last ten days, I am amused by the reactions to what the team does in the build up to games from some here.
McCarthy came out of the Giants game, filled with penalties. He had earlier stated, because this is getting to the dog days of December, he was rolling back on the intensity of the practices. Shortening them.
Of course the board exploded in a thread, the fan base who calls out every innuendo were lambasting him, essentially calling his coaching ability into question.
So McCarthy dropped the hammer on the team at its next practice. One of the starters was disciplined during this workout. They were focusing on penalties, and McCarthy was not pleased.
So here we sit, after the Colts game where Dallas had three penalties. Now some will say, "Oh yeah, it was the Colts."
Let me remind you of the posts that called that a trap game. That Dallas played even with the Colts up into the third quarter. So it's not like they had this 30 plus point lead throughout the game. But the team came to a point where they scored a TD, and the colts were pressed into playing catch-up, and the defense shut them down.
Three penalties.
I can't speak for anyone else, but McCarthy can flat out coach football.
