The defense better bone up and get ready to stop that rookie running back they have. That guy is the truth and he’ll run right over you if you aren’t ready.

They need to be preparing the right way.

Ya Pierce has that “contact twitch” some guys have that makes them that much tougher to bring down. I like him.

I suppose the answer is a 35 point win, and to a lesser degree, bourbon, but why do I not recall the ball on the ground six times?

Need to see the video to gain context. Assuming he meant you can't count on the opponents offense to give you six opportunities a game.

Bill Parcells "don't take the cheese" "don't break out the anointing oil" "don't drink the kool aid". All are common sayings but very true when it comes to sports.

Really when you get right down to it, the Cowboys need to go out and perform to their own level, not worry about who you are playing. Set your own expectation high and play as such. You do that then it does not matter who you play.
They need to approach this game like golf, it’s you against yourself and the course.

I'm curious to see if KM sticks to the same winning formula or will he get cute for this game.
Thats the point, KM doesnt need to get cute , when straight up we can beat the teams , keep playing the hand which is working and save cute things only in case of desperation, of course practice it well ahead in practices , but in the game time when things are working keep going with it unless opponent stop it.

Sure, I agree, but with the Cowboys it’s not that simple. Every time you turn on the TV, some “expert” is either dissing us or doing some “analytic” ESPN study where we have the best chance for a Lombardi. They complain whether we win by 1 or by 40.

..lol..bingo. I see same thing all the time. You either love us or hate us.

Reviewing some of the threads on the board over the last ten days, I am amused by the reactions to what the team does in the build up to games from some here.

McCarthy came out of the Giants game, filled with penalties. He had earlier stated, because this is getting to the dog days of December, he was rolling back on the intensity of the practices. Shortening them.

Of course the board exploded in a thread, the fan base who calls out every innuendo were lambasting him, essentially calling his coaching ability into question.

So McCarthy dropped the hammer on the team at its next practice. One of the starters was disciplined during this workout. They were focusing on penalties, and McCarthy was not pleased.

So here we sit, after the Colts game where Dallas had three penalties. Now some will say, "Oh yeah, it was the Colts."

Let me remind you of the posts that called that a trap game. That Dallas played even with the Colts up into the third quarter. So it's not like they had this 30 plus point lead throughout the game. But the team came to a point where they scored a TD, and the colts were pressed into playing catch-up, and the defense shut them down.

Three penalties.

I can't speak for anyone else, but McCarthy can flat out coach football.

You can certainly speak for me, I agree with everything you said. Great post.

As I've said many times, Mike was a great hire and his first year proved it. Everything went wrong and they still played hard for Mike. I used to think Mike was as good as you could hope for with Jerry, but I now believe Mike could coach for any team. He's the one to get us to the SB in my opinion.

I get the warts, but I also see a team that plays extremely hard for their head coach.
