McClain went home before game ended?

unless it was a medical directive to go to the hospital, why would he go home?! At least watch the game in the locker room/training room if he needed to sit down. But for a playoff game you have to "go down with the ship". Had we lost he just wouldnt have said goodbye?

I think this guy has mental issues that won't be healed and I wouldn't bother resigning him.

On the other hand he is also the guy that showed up at the airplane to fly to Washington after being told to stay home that he was not going to play due to illness.

Maybe he was told and escorted home by team medical folks.

Not saying he's not a headcase, but I don't think we know the whole story.

Wouldn't you want him in the training room to be treated then where they can take care of severe symptoms?

I don't see it that way. He's one of the most physical players on the team playing one of the most physical positions - not surprised at all he's getting dinged up. From all reports I read, he displayed concussion type symptoms and a sore neck, which doesn't lend itself to being a spectator. I imagine he needed medical attention or to be in a different environment than rowdy stadium.

Too much can be made of this since we don't know why he left, if that's what happened. You're using an incident that you know little about to draw your conclusion that he has mental issues and shouldn't be re-signed. Or perhaps you had already drawn those conclusions and are just looking for anything to support them.

We should learn from history (recent history). There were all kinds to rumors and whatnot about RoMc when he arrived. They were saying that he did this or that, but it all turned out to be the media just trying to create controversy. Maybe he did something undesirable after the Lions game or maybe he didn't but history would suggest that the media is often looking to create controversy around certain players and he's one of them.

My instinct is that if this were a big deal, we'd see a lot of media reports on it already. So far, the only mention is on Talkin' Cowboys, right?

My big-picture instinct on McClain is that the picture remains cloudy. He's been a valuable addition this season, helping glue together what has been a mash unit at the linebacker position (even with his own injuries, he's been quite helpful). He's ultra-talented and I think has fit in nicely with our locker room, and I hope he returns next season. However, I don't think his production or injury history warrants any sort of large compensation. He ends up on the injury report enough and fails to finish enough games to where I still consider him iffy long term.

Hopefully, though, he'll continue on the right path and will get the chance to continue his comeback story here.

Where did you see that he went home before the game ended? Just curious.

Maybe the team doctors didn't want him to infect the rest of the team with whatever germs he has?

How about we wait and find out more about what happened before we fans cut him from the Team.

Right. Very silly to make assumptions about this issue when all the facts aren't out yet. People ahve been doing this with McClain since he's gotten here. He misses a game....its "What's wrong with him?". Every single time. I do agree that we shouldn't be offering him big money because he hasn't proven he can be dependable as our starting MLB but it seems like everyone is quick to give him a mental issue.

If he had a concussion and was dehydrated - which would lead to nausea and that sort of thing - I wouldn't expect him to stay in the locker room and watch.

Not trying to argue, but in my line of work we get ALOT of concussion training. And if it was concussion there is no way he was going to be left alone for at least an hour or two.

True, but he could have gone home and been with family or something like that. It's not like he ran to the bat cave.
Well, even then, Alfred (Morris or Blue) could keep an eye on him: they have nothing better to do right now.

I love the guy and I love Lee but I'd still draft somebody to replace both of them as insurance, never have enough good LB's.
