McCoy will be a better pro than Bradford or Clausen

I just wanted to go on record. I've been listening to the ESPN and NFLN guys go over each of these QBs and looked at the highlights, and the pro days, and Bradford and Clausen both have a noticeably slower release than McCoy. Some really smart team is going to take McCoy at the end of the first or the beginning of the second and be really happy they did.

McCoy reminds me of Drew Brees. Quick release with a decent arm and legs that will allow him to improvise. A natural leader.

Maybe McCoy will fall to us. ;)

I think McCoy will be a bust.

I think Bradford will be an injured disappointment.

I actually think Clausen will be the first QB to find success.

It's a weak year for QB's, but the media and team needs make first rounders of them...next year will be the year for better QB's.

Personally, I'm don't care much for the QBs in this draft, but I take Bradford because he is very accurate. You know another very accurate QB in this league? Tom Brady. Who else? Troy Aikman was a damn accurate QB.

Give ma a big accurate QB who doesn't have weak arm. I will take Bradford.

Who wouldnt be accurate when they have alllll day to throw?

I think Bradford has a hard time standing up to the pounding he'll take in the NFL. The Lambs dont have the O Line to protect him or the backup QB to take the beating while the team tries to improve. McCoy gonna have to get on the right team, and even then I have alot of doubts.

OK,,, I really like McCoy, but noway are the 'Boys drafting a QB this year. We are in good shape with QBs... Romo will be the starter at least 5 more seasons, Kitna the backup 1 more year and then McGee the becomes the backup.... Far more pressing needs then taking a QB this draft.

What if he's still there when we pick in round 2?

Now I think sometimes a QB can be ruined by a team he goes to...not in all cases but I think a team, the players already on it, the coaches and system can make or break a QB.
There is a lot of merit in that. Guys like Joey Harrington and David Carr stood no chance of being successful.

McCoy is a player. I think it would be smart for a team like Seattle to look OT in the first and get McCoy in the 2nd, rather than trying to trade up to draft Bradford or Clausen.

I think McCoy is the best of the three. Like people have said, he has the quickest release, he's crazy accurate, and he throws well on the run.

If we didn't have Romo I would love to try to trade up for him in the 2nd, but I'm very happy with our QB situation.

Agreed.

And McCoy won't have Mac penciling in the weak sisters of little conferences to get the Horns in the top 10 at the start of each season.

I don't know that Bradford and Clausen will make big impacts, short or longterm, but they are infinitely better than this overhyped McCoy.

Please.....McCoy will be in the AFL 5 years from now UT homers.

You guys are :laugh2: :laugh1: :laugh2:

McCoy will be a Chris Simms replay.

The Longhorns need to get a new coach. One that isn't so soft. Mac Brown doesn't push his players and demand everything they have on the field. IMO he wastes the talent that he has and most guys that come out of Texas aren't ready for the NFL. Which is a very big worry if the Cowboys do go after Earl Thomas. I like Thomas, I just worry about how NFL ready he is coming out from under Mac Brown.

Nah, like some have said. McCoy has the tools to succeed. He reminds me of Drew Brees, from his build to his release.

Yeah the coach is doing a terrible job with them finishing in the top 5 three of the last five years and winning a national championship.

McCoy does have the tools to succeed but he needs to have his techniques polished before he ever touches the field.

His success depends on this.

I wouldn't play the guy for at least 2 years or until my system was 2nd nature to him.

Physically though, the guy is a playmaker at that position and has the important ability to buy time in the pocket.

Well, that's where we disagree. I have seen Bradford hit wide open guys in stride, but I haven't seen him fire a bullet between 2 defenders to a guy running a deep cross. I haven't seen him hit a guy on the outside shoulder in the corner of the endzone with a defender hanging all over him. If he really is more accurate than McCoy then his size and arm strength probably outweigh McCoy's quicker release and scrambling ability. But I haven't seen it.

Got anything to back that up? That's what I thought. ;)

Yeah...who wants a HC who only gets his team to the National Championship twice in 5 years? Mack obviously sucks.

Also...if Thomas has problems early...it will be because he's only a sophomore...not anything else.

Sheesh. :bang2:

Obviously you have never watched Mccoy play because if you had you would know that he is one of the most accurate passers in college football the past few years. He had a completion percentage of almost 80 as a junior and he only threw 7 interceptions while throwing 32 touchdown's. Oh I might also add that he beat Bradford the last two years.
