Not a big fan of McDonald's burgers as they are very greasily but love their French fries.
The fast food places didn’t screw themselves. The fast food places kinda screwed themselves, they couldn't match the quality of local places, so they made up for it with convenience and price. It has gotten to the point that local places are better quality, better priced and have caught up in convenience with on-line ordering and delivery services.
Agreed. I've been there once in the last 20 years, and the Big Mac was disgusting. Wilted, browning lettuce, stale bun, overcooked burgers.I like their breakfast sandwiches but that is about it. The fries have gone downhill, hard to find crispy ones these days.
In high school (late 90s), I remember us sometimes leaving campus and heading to the nearest Burger King for lunch. Back then, you could indulge in a large Double Whopper meal for just $5.I remember you could buy a Big Mac, when they first came out, for $.59, fries were $.19 and the drink was cheap. The meal was less than $1.50.
Carroll's, which was owned by Burger King, my father would feed a total of 8 of us for around $7. And we're talking no less than double helpings for each of us.
Oh how times have changed.
He didn't park around back, by the dumpsters, did he?I remember you could buy a Big Mac, when they first came out, for $.59, fries were $.19 and the drink was cheap. The meal was less than $1.50.

I got in school suspension for sneaking off campus to go to Jack in the Box in high school. In high school (late 90s), I remember us sometimes leaving campus and heading to the nearest Burger King for lunch. Back then, you could indulge in a large Double Whopper meal for just $5.
Ugh, I'm officially getting old. "Well, back when I was a kid..............."
We had 9-12 in our high schools. 9th graders were not allowed to leave campus, but 10-12 could. Of course, as a freshman, we always snuck off campus, but there were consequences if we got caught. I never did get caught though.I got in school suspension for sneaking off campus to go to Jack in the Box in high school.
Well he earned 250 a month back then too, right? Just kidding but even though the last 4 years have been really bad as far as inflation goes, my salary increase was still higher. Of course inflation ate up a lot of the extra money but it's not like people are drowning. They have to stop buying unnecessary crap though. Lots of the lower income people in my vicinity still have that 65" OLED TV and other stuff. When I was just getting by during my uni years I just had some crappy CRT, no car and stayed away from any fancy stuff like eating out and so on.I remember you could buy a Big Mac, when they first came out, for $.59, fries were $.19 and the drink was cheap.
