The last time I've been to a White Castle their burgers were under .50 cents. I go there the other day, got 3 cheeseburgers, a large order of fries, and a small coke. It was $12.26

What's with the small coke these days? Mine had to be 16 ounces. How is that a small coke? And who the hell drinks the large?

Just did the conversion, that's not even 500ml. This has been normal forever. In cinemas the large is 1l.

And no, I don't wanna drink a liter of cola (why do I have to think about Supertroopers right now :muttley: ) but 500ml is absolutely ok for a regular meal in my books.

I know movie theatres have always had oversized items. Especially drinks and popcorn. I just don't remember the fast food places having it. How do you call something that is 20-24 ounces medium? The only time I ever remember drinking that much or more was after playing sports. Or working in high temperatures.

I thought we were talking about 16 ounces. 24 or more could/should be called large, yes.

Well yes, 16 ounces because I ordered a small. I was just saying, a medium has to be at least 20 ounces or more if a small is 16. Like I said, I haven't been to fast food places much in many years. But I'm pretty sure a small wasn't 16 oz in the 80s or 90s. Or I'm just recalling it wrong.

I guess I'm just used to Dunkin Donuts coffee sizes. !0 oz, 14 for medium, 20 large, and 24 extra large.

...woo wee! Here we go, boys. Read em and weep.
For limited time-span. They are willing to lose money here, they say: Hook, line n sinker.

The $5 combo includes a McDouble cheeseburger or McChicken sandwich,
a four-piece order of Chicken McNuggets, a small order of french fries and a small soft drink
.

Do we say yuck! Or are you game?

Well he earned 250 a month back then too, right? Just kidding but even though the last 4 years have been really bad as far as inflation goes, my salary increase was still higher. Of course inflation ate up a lot of the extra money but it's not like people are drowning. They have to stop buying unnecessary crap though. Lots of the lower income people in my vicinity still have that 65" OLED TV and other stuff. When I was just getting by during my uni years I just had some crappy CRT, no car and stayed away from any fancy stuff like eating out and so on.

Fast Food has become ridiculously expensive, so why even bother? That's the easiest thing to stay away from, right? Yet the lines at the local McDonald's are long and people complain about prices at the same time. I don't get it. Sorry for the mini rant. No offense intended.
Honestly, considering the prices, I prefer Chili's or Applebee's, depending on the deal. Chilis, especially, has some great deals like the 3 for me. Also, BWW has, for $20 unlimited wings and fries on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I'm old enough to remember what McD's was like in the 70's and 80's. It wasn't bad back then. But compared to now, there is no difference.

Same with all food. Pizza, KFC.........
Fast food is fast food, especially cheap burgers, but I feel like the fried chicken joints - KFC, Popeyes, etc - can still be drastically different in taste depending on location.

The breakfast is the best items at McDs and I am not a big breakfast guy.

To this day the best thing is two Cheeseburgers with extra pickles. It is cheap and too hard to screw up.
However they are just for a midday snack until you get a better meal later in the day.

McDonalds is McDonalds and everybody bashes them but they still sell a crap ton of food everyday...good or bad, more people buy it even if they complain about it.
Their coffee ain’t that bad either. I stop by a McDonalds every week or two for a breakfast. My favorite item too.

The fast food places didn’t screw themselves.

Inflation as well as having to pay $20 minimum wage for employees who have minimal to no skills is the problem.

They didn’t have a choice but to raise their prices.
Kids don’t want to flip burgers or make milk shakes anymore, they all want to be Youtube stars. Ever since the pandemic, feels like I have yet to visit a crap job place that doesn’t struggle to hire.

Wendy's burgers are pretty good, at least the Wendy'ses(?) I've been to.
