Maybe you should qualify some of that with the word "mostly" when discussing McFaddens lack of success.

He's has some (mostly short) stretches of absolute brilliance.
Also, he did have season where he had 1664 yards from scrimmage and > 5 ypc....in 13 games.
Some make it sound like he's had zero success.
That's not true.

I agree he has talent but has dealt with injury and inconsistency throughout his NFL career. The injury we can only hope, the consistency I think improves with a real team around him

Hope he can be decent. People like to make comparisons between him and Murray (same age, similar injury histories) but there's really no comparison because Murray showed glimpses of greatness his whole career and it finally manifested when everything came together. Not only has McFadden not shown that he can stay healthy, but he also hasn't shown that he's a good RB in the NFL. I'm pulling for him because he has freak athleticism (really a Bo Jackson Light if you look at the numbers) and this O-line is nasty enough to help any RB. This is a career defining year for McFadden. Was he unlucky with injuries and a bad Raiders environment or is he a bust and nothing but a combine hero?

Murray = greatness?

Come on....

What is true is that he's been injured a ton and his games missed don't even fully reflect because he has played injured a lot as well.

You might be right. I have high hopes for McFadden. I'm just saying I'm not convinced he'll be great in Dallas. But I wouldn't be shocked if he is. One strategy I'm thinking is buy low from the bad teams and don't buy from the good teams. Look at it. We got a player for practically free from the Raiders who has the potential to be great. We also got a player from the Raiders last year. And Tom Brady broke records with a WR who was a bust in Oakland. And then you see teams paying top dollar for mediocre players who happened to be on good teams. Look at Jeremy Parnell, look at the Seattle CBs the past few years, look at the Seattle DT who just got cut. Maybe the key is to rely on cesspools like Oakland to corrupt good talent that you can buy for cheap.

When did 1850 yards become a running joke? Did you just start watching the Cowboys? People noticed that Murray was special his rookie year.

Look... I liked Murray. I didn't like that he was missing games prior to last year.

It's no surprise that he didn't miss games in contract year... Hand injury. Probably sits out year before.

Like I said ... I liked/like him. He was real good and serviceable last year. Got dirty yards.
Sorry, ones eason does not equal greatness.

He had a good year.

Fumble too much.

Not fair, he played 35 of the last 37 games with dallas. The injuries he had were legit injury that would keep any player out. Broken Ankle, sprained MCL. Claiming he would miss the season over an hand injury does not sound like a person who liked a guy.

In terms of fumbles based on the amount of Carries, well Randle avg a fumble every 25 carries while Murray was once 78 carries.

If he was that great. We would have kept him over dez.

Not really Dez is great in his own right, fact is there is a cap paying both Dez and Murray top money for the position they play was not reasonable for the Cowboys

I'm looking forward to seeing both of them. The running game is the biggest question mark of this offseason. We need to see if these guys are the answer.

$10 says at least one of them gets hurt in the game.. .if they don't get injured on the bus ride there.

Should we start a poll and start taking bets on when mcfadden goes down.

At the end of the day, he is a Dallas Cowboy and I will hope he can surprise us by staying healthy. You could of made bets about Murray staying healthy last season or....even McFadden who stayed healthy last season(with a similar work load as he will see in Dallas).

No. I like him.

I am not saying he did... But He wouldn't be the first guy to play in contract year as opposed to sitting if it wasn't. I ain't mad at him.

Stats smats! Fumble at wrong time. GB. Yeah I'm bitter. Lol

Even if I could have I would have let hi go.
I was thinking that it would be better to keep the band together. But I am more than ok that he is gone.

I don't see that as Murray makeup, the guy worked hard and well respected by the top players and leaders on this team.
Murray dealt with injuries but I don't think he gave any more or less based on the contract.

I have no ill feeling towards the Cowboys for making a business decision, Dez was going to get paid top dollar and no way Dallas was going to match the offer that Philly was willing to pay.

He is a good guy.

But it is clear as day. He wanted big pay day. I would too.

Dez or no Dez. He wasn't getting mega deal from Jerry.

Fixed it for you.

Jerry would've paid Murray in a heartbeat if it was up to him.
