Well guess what? If someone like Tiki Barber can go from the size they were at and become a #1 back then Reggie Bush sure as heck can too.

Its not like this guys is going to stop getting better. There hasnt been a guy that just does everything as exceptional as Bush does.

He is a weapon in your run game, your receiving game, your return game.

1 or 2 big plays a game can change it. With Reggie Bush on your team your almost guaranteed that. With more experience it will be nothing to see this guy making jaw dropping plays on a weekly basis.

McFadden is a baller no doubt but can he make an overall impact on a game that Reggie Bush can? I dunno.

But either way your going to get a really good player.

Tiki is a good example to use, but there are many other examples of where they can't take the load and it is better to run a 2 back setup with them.

The only point I have is that if I have Bush on my team, right now, I want another quality RB back there to share the load. This was true early in Tiki's career also. Unless you have a crystal ball, no one knows what the future will bring for what Bush develops into, or Darren for that matter.

And like I said at the end, it really doesn't matter which you choose anyway, they are both great backs. One difference is McFadden could be a Cowboy and Bush won't be one, but that doesn't make any difference to me, I would take either of them at this point looking at our present backfield.

McFadden is an every down back that can carry a team. Bush isn't that and never will be. Everyone knows Bush brings a lot to the table, but they just aren't the same type players.

you do know mcfadden is 2 inches taller and exactly the same weight as bush right? well from your post it seems that you dont. if u think mcfadden will be an every down back at 206 lbs, and with a big back like barber there, you're mistaken.

What? If there was a playoff, LSU would have won it. McFadden torched them. He destroyed Auburn. He destroyed Tennessee. He torched SEC champion Georgia in Athens in 2005. Bush was great, but he didn't face SEC defenses eight times a year. The defenses in the SEC during the 2005 season may have been the best the SEC has ever produced as a group.

Reggie Bush would've torched what ever defenses you wanted to put out in front of him in College.

lol mcfadden is not on reggie bush's level. bush ran on everybody. look at mcfaddens stats. he beats up on them nobody teams. he had a couple decent games vs alabama and i think lsu. but in most sec games he really didnt do much.

Nope. That's wrong. Most of McFadden's yards come against the big boys in the SEC. Nutt doesn't run him into the ground against the creampuffs just to pad his stats. He needs him too much for the big games. Felix Jones and Michael Smith get the bulk of the 2nd half carries against the "nobody teams".

it's like comparing apples and oranges. mcfadden is the better pure runner and can be a 30 carry back in the nfl. bush is the superior receiver and also the more dangerous return man.. you couldn't go wrong with either guy.

I watched the game. While 6.3 ypc looks good, he was pretty much ineffective. Lendale White was far more effective and that game and is the entire reason Lendale came out in that draft rather than staying to become the primary back. His value was as high as it was going to get. Of course he got fat and lax and his value dropped anyhow.

I really haven't seen much of McFadden, so I can't make a fair comparison. Although what I've seen of Bush, McFadden will need to make a "definite" impact his rookie season to equal that of Bush's though.

I really doubt that there is an official weight on McFadden right now. I would expect come combine time he will be in the 215-220 range.

I'm not sure if I'd call Reggie Bush a proven player quite yet. All anyone remembers from his rookie season are all of the big highlight plays. They seem to forget he only rushed for 3.6 yards per carry.

This is true, but towards the end of the season Bush started to come alive. Not only rushing, but he was very effective recieving out of the backfield.

I like Reggie Bush, he has alot of talent. The saints are lucky they have him. But he's always played with a good QB that presented a threat.

In college, he was not the only threat on that offensive unit. The defense had to game plan for the passing game as well. Bush was not the central focus.

In the NFL, he again is on an offense where he is not the only threat. The saints have a threat at QB, so defenses must always be aware of the passing game.

Those of you in here that know the Razorback offense know where I'm going. The Razorbacks did not have a QB threat, at all, last year. McFadden was the only threat on that offense. The only time the passing game became a threat was when McFadden was at QB.

If you were the defensive coordinator on the opposing team, your list of concerns would be:
1. McFadden
2. McFadden
3. McFadden
4. McFadden
5. They have a QB?

That is why McFadden has impressed me the way he has. His success has come against some great SEC defenses. Those defenses only concern was STOP MCFADDEN.
