McGee got McGame !

McGee played pretty well. He only had two inaccurate throws: the one in the dirt that was intended for Austin and another that was about a foot or two behind Witten.

His other incompletions were: the broken-up pass intended for Bennett, a pass intended for Witten that was tipped at the line by Dockett, a throwaway in the direction of Bennett, and a drop by Austin.

I thought his throws on the slants (one to Austin, two to Hurd) were excellent throws. He appears to have a really nice arm with a decent throwing motion. I think his release could be a little quicker, but not bad at all.

My biggest complaint would be his reluctance to step up in the pocket. At the first sign of pressure, he had a tendency to drop further back even when there was space in front of him. That's pretty typical for young QB's, so maybe he'll work his way out of it.

I thought he was reasonably poised given the circumstances. All-in-all, I was pleased with the performance.

:hammer:

Even the complaint part I completely agree with.

and Bennett's was an obvious pass interference not called by the idiots.

Pretty simple CZ logic going on here again.

McGee plays here, and played ok, but must suck because we picked him.

If he played for anyone else and had that same type of outing in his debut, those same people would be wondering why Jones and co cant draft a developmental QB like him.

Glad we were able to see what this young man has to offer as a player.

I have been beating the drum that we need to evaluate our young back ups under real game conditions to see if we have any other diamonds in the rough like we found with Free last year.

I would like to see more of McGee next game.
More Sam Young and less Columbo would be nice as well.

McGee has Moxie!;)

He got insanely lucky that his TD to Miles was not intercepted. 9 times out of 10 that pass is picked off. Luck.

Also, he threw atleast four balls into the ground, and almost threw an interception, but the defender dropped the ball.

Romo's first game was similar, and then he got better later. I guess McGee needed to get his jitters out.

I am not saying McGee is not a good quarterback, but I am implying that you are smoking gingerbread infused mary jane if you think he had a good game running the ball 75% and throwing to the ground 24%.

If you reread my post, my main point is that we played him and had a chance to see what he has to offer either good or bad. As my title implied I believe he did well considering he did not have any prior game experience or first team reps.

I have a feeling he'll make some mistakes. But he'll surprise a lot of people's expectation what kind of abilities he has. All he has to do is calm down his game and focus. Dude has all the tools Kitna has and then some.

The whorn t-shirt fans are showing their a$$es on this thread. :lmao2:

McGee has all the tools to become a good starting QB and the fact, that he put points on the board and didn't throw a pick comes as no surprise.

He needs more game experience, but this kid can win games if he gets enough oppurtunity.

I was happy with what I saw out of McGee, he seem to gain confidence throughout the game, still has allot of work ahead of him but all in all he did a nice job given the little time he gets as a backup

The guy was an untested rookie who was drafted as a project, so while he didn't exactly "light it up", it has to show promise that he found a way to put us in position to win. A time or two I saw him lock onto one WR rather than checking down when that guy wsas covered, and he can be a bit too hasty to run rather than give the play another second or two to develop, but given the circumstances I believe he showed enough to feel he has a chance.

McGee did great for a second year guy who needed a LOT of polish coming into the league. The third QB gets literally zero reps with the first team -- he had never thrown a pass to Witten or Miles before! -- and he had us in the game and even threw a great pass to take the lead. He showed the leadership, poise, arm, and toughness that many people saw from him in college.

I'd be excited to see him with some actual, you know, practice reps... Except the Eagles are going to be so tough.

Still excited to see him, though. The guy has something.
