McGinest to the Browns

Mister Jerry Jones is just waiting for the right moment to pull them out of his hat like a magicman and his rabbit.

What rabbit?

Dad-burn, if jerry really in mexico on vacation, and leaving us fans hanging? This makes me really wonder, if Jerry really plans to sign anyone big like TO, or just barely sign players this year, like they did in 2004. I am sure all of you are aware what happened that year, we waited for free agents, & after doing so, did a poor job of getting quality players, and as you know we stunk that year, 5-11 record in 2004.

Did he even visit Dallas ??

He never made it here.

That is what happens when your owner and coach take the week of free agency off.

You lose out. In most of these cases, first Longwell and now this apparently, we simply did not get them to visit us.

That is what happens when you are content to be third on the visit list.

You will lose out on the good players.

Looking at the 2 FA we have signed these are still young guys I don't think Dallas is looking to add more age to this team. I'm not going to knock McGinest I think he is a very good player but he is getting up in age and it just appears right now that Jerry and the Cowboys are not looking to put a team together for just 1 or 2 season.

I thought I read somewhere that rabbit kicked the bucket.

Now this is one I wanted that got away. What a bummer. He would have been perfect here in Dallas tutoring our young guys. What is Jerry thinking?

It is true he would have been a great pick-up for the reasons you mentioned. But it had nothing to do with what Jerry did or didn't do. This guy wanted to go to his home state. Money isn't everything to everybody. Where you live, raise your family, etc. is also part of most people's decision as to where to go. We need to stop blaming Jones for everything.

He was a former Parcells player, so he supposedly wasn't any good anyway and the only reason he would be brought here is because Parcells is making this a retirement home for his former Patriots and Jets.

Or so I've been told.

Players and agents decide who they are going to visit first, not coaches.

McGinnest player for Romeo two years ago. Its been a while since he played for Bill. I'm sure his ties are stronger there, so he went there first.

yeah but if we showed more interest then they would come here first

That person edging closer on the bridge represents the Cowboys fan reaction as we continue to hear about these signings. :D

How do you know what interest they did or didn't show?

he'd have been perfect here if only Jerruh took a few minutes away from his stadium building and "how to circumvent revenue sharing" thoughts.

well i admit i don't know exactly but i imagine that we would have heard more about him possibly coming here if we had showed more interest.

We needed his leadership big time....****!

I'm not sure I can watch anymore...next will be Adam V. signing elsewhere. Folks will continue to say be patient...we're ok.

There are not many more FA's worth considering at any position right now...really.

****!

Dont worry. It's only a week into free agency. It doesn't matter that basically all the decent FAs are off the market because there's still plenty of time. :banghead: It doesn't matter that the rest of the divison is getting better every day. Trust me. There's plenty of time. No need to rush my man. Jerry is tanning somewhere in Mexico and Bill is shagging flyballs with the St Louis Cardinals. :banghead:

Yes, because Bill is famous for broadcasting his personnel plans to the media.

He's not gonna jump...he's just looking to see what FA's are left down there...

Oh wait FA started...

~Phone rings...Bill answers.
~ Jerrah...hey it's me
~ Bill...what's up J
~ Jerrah...Did you know FA started?
~ Bill...Serious?
~ Bill...how's the tan coming along?
~ Jerrah...ok, but my face feels tight.
~ Bill...I bet...how many times has it been now?
~ Jerrah...to many
~ Bill...so this FA thing...what should we do?
~ Jerrah...Let me call Danny and see who he's taken and we can go from there.
~ Bill...sounds good to me.
~ Jerrah...did you ok releasing Keys?
~ Bill...What?
~ Jerrah...Sorry forgot to tell you...needed cash for Mexico

I would have liked him but clearly he saw the Browns as a better fit -- a 3 year commitment is a bit much for a guy with a year or two left in the tank.

First rule of magic is you don't do no telling on the next trick even if you no how its done mostly.

We just need to cross our fingers and enjoy the show.

Have faith in Mr Jerry Jones he wont not let us down again.
