Now remember guys, we can't complain or worry about our slow FA start or we will be BANNED for saying Cowboys need get a little move on. Everything is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. JJ & Parcells have this great plan so be p -a - t -i -e -n -t. THE will say we want the Cowboys to overspend on all those overrated players then JJ & Parcells will come along and sweep up (at a cheap price) all those great players who just waiting for us to come save them from the poor house.

I keep hearing guys talking about drafting some of these college DEs for OLB or upset over signings.

What's wrong with Ware / Brady / Adele / Burnett

Burnett was a fairly high 2nd round pick...I think we should expect him to play this year.

No worries.

He was old as molasses anyways plus we got some tricks up our sleeve. Mister Jerry Jones is just waiting for the right moment to pull them out of his hat like a magicman and his rabbit.

This is all just part of the great plannings that have been planned up for our team.

Relaxes now and breath easy.

Sure! Sure! The sky isn't falling--2003 revisited.

Here is a question for the board, and I am dying to hear the answer. What is the GM of an NFL team doing taking a week of vacation on the first week of free agency? Does that make any sense??

If this is true...It's Idiotic!

Come on guys, I wanted him, but to act like it's the end of the world is silly.

Don't forget Belichik let him walk. The Pats could have matched that deal easily but they didn't and the guy was a key part of their defense last year.

Our defense will be fine.

What were you guys like in 90 and 91 when we brought in a ga-jillion no name football players?

Your parents shoulda ignored you when you threw yourselves on the floor screaming cause you wanted the RED popsicle.

McGinest would have been a very solid signing for us. Well, there goes that idea... Hope you are enjoying your vacation Jerry!

Nothing except Burnett may not be ready to start the season (I think he tore his ACL or something like that in December), but I agree 100% that we don't need to draft a LB in the first. I only wanted McGinnest because he would bridge the gap between now and when Burnett was ready not to mention what he could teach Burnett and Ware.

I would have liked him but clearly he saw the Browns as a better fit -- a 3 year commitment is a bit much for a guy with a year or two left in the tank.

Exactly. We would have never paid that and with good reason.

3 years 12 mill is too much for a guy that old. A shame but that is the way it is.

He said he did not want to go on recruiting visits or city to city..he is old :laugh1::laugh2:

Said Parcells thought Browns was best place for him probably indicating Bill wants to stay young at LB

We need some experience in our LBs.
I agree 100%. This is the downside of using a high draft choice without a capable veteran who has played at a high levelin place. James and Ayodele have played well but I would not say they are elite players. Ware is a potential elite player but is still learning how to be a pro. A new guy like Lawson would be where Ware was last year and our LB corps would be looking to James for leadership. That's a lot to ask of him, IMO.

I thought I heard James was a good leader on his college team. Hope it translates over.

As a matter of fact, isn't college team captains something we have a high amount of on our defense ?

IMO that player has a LOT to prove. Not only did he get hurt late in the season (which means his first half of 2007 is in jeopardy) but this hugely sets back his learning curve. He didn't get much time in the 3-4 last year and likely won't get any time in it this offseason. Given how injury prone this kid has been, I'm thinking year 2 of Burnett is likely shot. If he manages to develop at the pace of a Brady James, he'll thus become a player in his 4th year instead of his 3rd year. That leaves his 5th year a contract year and us getting only 1 or 2 good years from a 2nd round draft pick. I guess with Dallas' recent track record (Carter, Dixon, Gurode, Bryant, Johnson, Rogers, et al) we should not be surprised.
