McGinn Draft Series - Part 7: DL

Sooo glad we won some meaningless games the last month of the season rather than have a shot at Graham.

Man, I'm really warming up to Tyliek Williams. Even McGinn can't crap on him.

And is Ty Robinson going second round really that crazy? He put up 95th% broad jumps and vertical jumps at the Combine, and an 85th% 10 yard split. So he's really explosive, strong as hell, and plays with a high motor. Super easy to see how that would translate to success at 3 tech.

Here is the question, when you have 2 guys at one schools, does one make the other better? Is Grants good because he plays next to Graham or is Graham good because he plays next to Grant? I just wonder about that.

I am still shocked Collins is rated 3rd best. I don't see it. But I am not paid to watch these guys play so I could be way wrong.

What I do know is this draft is good for DTS and this has been a weakness in Dallas for years. They would be wise to use 2 or even 3 of their draft picks to finally beef up that DL.

Graham is something of an enigma.........from the outside, we have consistently heard top 5 grade, but the more he is broken down, we are starting to hear a few holes in his evaluation. BTW....this isn't just surfacing.....I started hearing/reading nuggets right after the season that he wasn't as much a top 10 slam dunk as some believed.
but virtually all the draft gurus say BS
THEY do have him there

Now they have been wrong before but I see a LOT of nitpicking with Graham which you get when you are considered a top 5 talent

virtually every single top talent gets this kind of over scrutiny.

Caldwell @ 1T ALL DAY!!!!! Like the reports said, he looks like a fat boy, but they knew what he could do. Kid has really good get off and power - the complete opposite of Mazi. Exactly what you’d want in a 1 gap, attacking NT. Could go anywhere from late Round 3 to Round 5. If Dallas can’t find at least 1 RB and 1 NT from this draft, I don’t know what the heck they are doing anymore.

He’s a very good player…but I don’t think he’s any better than the kid from UT who went around 17 last year to the Hawks.

He’s not an elite prospect.

I think some equate his game to Aaron Donald's. One nugget made an interesting observation about what impact he and Grant had on each other's careers.

IMO, Plan A....
Trade down and pick up as many extra top 150 picks as you can......then draft TWilliams at the bottom of the 1st. If he isn't there, take Grant. Graham and Nolen I suspect will be gone before late round 1. One of them should be there late in 1, as you seldom see multiple 1T taken in 1.

Pick another DL with your picks in the 5th.
Yep, this is my plan
Then take another DT in rds 3-5 since you acquired picks with trading down

2 DTs and 2 RBs in this draft

Man, I would be thrilled if we could leave this draft with a fast, dynamic #2 WR, a young stud RB, and a monster next to Osa.

Seems like the year we could get that done.

So, probably not.

It’s very possible I’d the depth at DT and rb this year
