I dont see it. He is more of a stand up see and attack type of player.

Good DEs are hard to come by thats why there isn't that many. Its more than size or speed. You have to have the combo of speed, power, strength, great hands and smarts in pass rush moves. THis draft doesn't have many if any of those special DEs.
I don't know why people want to reach for a DE so damn bad. IF a DE isn't BPA then pick another spot or trade back but please don't reach on one.

Some teams are looking at him as a OLB including the Chiefs who run a 3-4

Can you name 3 or 4 that fit the bill?

At 27 no. That's why I wouldn't reach for o e just to say you drafted a DE.

I think we can get mario edwards, preston smith or Orchard in the 2nd. That's why I'm all for trading back rather than reaching

I'm sure there's at least one gem in the first four rounds, maybe a sleeper in the 5th but I'd prefer we pick one earlier.

I'm fine picking one in the 2nd I just don't want to pass on a op 25 player at 27 to reach for a 2nd round talent.

Now if you want Mckinney as a SOLB or MLB if McClain leaves then we can talk. I just don't think his best spot will be at DE

There will be, at most, two or three double digit sack guys in this draft, just like almost every year. It's a matter of finding them.

I think pass rushers are very hard to draft consistently. The teams that have feared pass rushers have thrown numbers at the position or have an incredible talent working for them that can translate college production to NFL production.

I don't think Smith or Edwards will be there in the second. Orchard is a 3-4th guy IMO

Total disagree on orchard. 43 DE only. Reminds me alot of lawerence.

I said trade back into the top 2nd and add a 3rd and then take your 6oth pick and a one of the 3rd and trade up in the 2nd. Get 2 top 50 picKs.WKs.Wdwards will be there in the 40s and Orchard will be too.

I would love to grab 23of thethe following players

Edwards
Orchard
P Smith
Wright
Jarrett

Should be able to get 2 of those guys if we get 2 2nd in the top 50

We are just on seperate wavelengths here. Only two guys I would take from that list is Smith and Edwards. I know Broaddus is pumping up Jarrett right now but I dont see it. I would much rather have Cooper.

I actually thought about this the other day. I kept it to myself though because most draft-a-player-and-switch-positions ideas are frowned upon by the great, unwashed masses.

Yes, Cooper should be ranked ahead of Jarrett.

Jarrett is an interesting later round developmental guy, but the Cowboys already have several developmental DTs.

Smith and Edwards don't wow me.

I will say that I think Jarrett is much better then the review by Dantheman. My guess is that he just reviewed the Ohio St. game. That team made many players look bad.

I agree that Smith isnt a WOW kinda guy. I think he is going to be a solid starter, not superstar. I think edwards has some potential to be an impact player. You know what they say about potential though.

I dont understand how you don't see orchard. Just put 4 sacks on a 1st round OT Peat. Put up 18 sacks ve top teams. Has a slow 40 and 3 cone drill for a 34 OLB showing he's a but stiff in the hips to play that position and never really dropped back. But oh well.

I woukd love Edwards and Smith. I think both can be Strong side DE and can move inside on passing downs or in the nickel.

I like Jarrett as a 1 tech. Squatty square strong player. Broaddus says he's a 3 but listening to broad us over the years he doesn't understand this defense. He was calling crawford a 1 last offseason.

I like Gabe Wright as a rotatonal 3.

Cooper didn't impress me on film or at the combine. Short arm and not great burst. He's stock was helped by a good 40 but hurt by short arms.

I agree on Cooper is better than Jarrett. but I think Jarrett best position in this defense is the 1 tech.cooper shorter than average arms will hurt him. But he had a good 40 and field drills. I wouldn't mind him at 60 if BPA but I have him more of a 3rd

If Orchard is stiff in the hips than OO is just a telephone pole because he has very little bend around the edge ,he is just a hustler who plays with a lot of power especially with his hands.

He stiff for a 34 OLB is my point. Orchard to me is a 43 DE only. Same size arm length and 40 time as DLawrence. Both play very similar and has strong hands

Totally agree! I think the two would be great late 1st round options for us. Orchard I can't get a proper read on. 2-4 th IMO, and 2nd being a risk. Exactly what you wrote
