Peter King of SI.com reports that when Reid was asked whether he would trade McNabb if he “got a ridiculous offer,” Reid answered, “No,” and then paused and said, “Probably not.”
Reid did say “probably” instead of “definitely,” .
well damn then sorry to get everyones hopes up...cased closeRampage;2024154 said:na you heard wrong. they said "appy trails to mcnabb leaving philly" as in the rumor of him leaving isn't true cause Reid told him he was staying.
ABQCOWBOY;2024161 said:Well, I don't know if they are serious or not but if they did intend to consider trade offers, Chicago would be idiots not to try and aquire him IMO.
YoMick;2024173 said:You say this because it is SOOO BAD over there that they can only get better right?
Or do you think he can lead THAT team?
ABQCOWBOY;2024202 said:A little of both IMO. Offensively, they are horrible and it's because they don't have a QB. Every defense loads them up against the run. Good QB play would help that a great deal IMO. If you take a look at there offense, it's really not bad. They have Booker, Loyd, Olsen and Benson at the skilled positions. Booker and Loyd are pretty decent WRs IMO. Olsen is going to be one heck of a TE and if you can provide a threat in the passing game, that's going to do wonders for Benson. On the OL, they have Beekman, who's going to be pretty good, they have Garza, Tait, Kruetz and St. Clair. They could probably stand to add a good young OT but they have talent on the OL. Defensively, they are pretty good if they don't have to play 4 quarters of football every week.
Plus, he's a local guy so Chicago would fit well for him. Probably never happen but if the opportunity presented itself, I'd think that Chicago would be a real good place for him.
YoMick;2024204 said:I see your point.
But I wouldnt trust him... I dont care how many weapons you give him.
ABQCOWBOY;2024206 said:I don't love him either but in view of what Chicago has to work with at QB, they would be stupid not to consider it.
YoMick;2024209 said:So you actually lean towards the former... gotcha!
ABQCOWBOY;2024216 said:I guess so. In a situation such as the one we are discussing (which I don't see happening), I kinda see it in the same light as Washington bringing in Doug Williams years ago. Right kind of QB to go with your offense and who knows. Maybe lighting strikes. Then again, if your at the epicenter of the strike, well, you know.
:laugh2:

But if Kolb starts looking good in preseason you will hear more of this.
