sorry McNabb, you're an NFC East 3rd place team, not a SB team

So you think the Giants finish behind the Cowboys and the Eagles behind them huh? Could be. You think the Giants get a Wildcard berth?

Nothing to this story...they have to believe that...just as we have to believe it about our team.

Yes, at this time of the year, all fans, all teams believe they can get to the SB.

Well the quote is actually very accurate... just missing some words

It should have read "we are a super bowl team.......... that lost the superbowl"

And, third place only if the Giants continue to misfire. I really think Philly's in for some surprises this year on how much the other tams have improved, as opposed to them. Westbrook has already shown some signs of injury, wait until the hitting is for real. And how many series has McNabb played? Let's wait and see how he reacts to pressure.

that's the reason I dropped Philly to third (where I previously had Dallas)

one preseason series and Westbrook is already in a boot

I give em credit cause the D is solid (minus their LBs) and McNabb is the best QB in the division, but, I'm obviously selling their attempt at a running game

Yeah, I like jokes. Yours above isn't very funny though. You should work on it. The punch line should be at the end not the beginning.

Yes, but you don't announce it at a press conference as he did.

The more they talk about things being back to "normal" minus Owens, the more it becomes clear they are trying to convince not only everyone else, but themselves as well. They, and specifically McNabb, won't quit talking about it. They are more focused on how much they have "recovered" from last year than to realize what issues they face right now. That's all they talk about. When you live in the past, you inevitably going to be controlled by it.

If they have indeed moved on, they wouldn't keep on talking about it every opportunity they have.
Amazing how you guys cry about the Dallas media asking about TO but always fail to mention the Philly media asking about TO. It's not like McNabb called the reporters together to talk about TO.

We could do a lot worse than having Donovan McNabb in a Cowboy uniform.

What kind of quote did you expect in the dog days of TC. Our own press is fawning over TO on the bike for the 14th straight day.

Slow news day in Philly.
McNabb has a history of running his mouth.
When we beat them for the first time with Parcells, McNabb was saying how he knew they were the better team.
He showed us no respect.
That guy is a chump and no amount of acting like a clown, or making bold statements is gonna change the fact that he is in for a pounding when he plays us.
The Eagles are considered underdogs at the moment so making bold statements mean nothing.
If they lose they can always go back on the critics saying we were suppose to lose.
If they win the division they can act like they knew all along.
McNabb is the only qb I have seen NOT run the no huddle in a Superbowl while losing by two scores late in the game.......because he was tired.
McNabb's act is tired!

of course Mcfatty HAS to say crap like that....and as someone pointed out...when players are saying stuff like that in public, it usually means they need to feel good about themselves because they are secretly really worried.

I haven't looked at their schedule but I'm sure its close to what ours looks like and I really don't see more than 6-7 wins for them this year. I just don't know where their offense is going to come from, esp given their 4-play tecmobowl-like playbook.
1) Mcnabb is too fat nowadays to really hurt teams running and I do remember pre-TO Mcnabb not that long ago philthy fans wanting to bench him. I could see that happening again.
2) TO is gone and they have absolutely nothing at WR, probably the worst corps in the entire league
3) Westbrook will probably get injured (its almost inevitable) and he's about 70% of their offense. Also, rest assured teams will load up to stop him.
4) LJ Smith is about the only threat they have
5) Teams have figured out they only have a few plays in the book, esp without TO...Mcnabb scramble, screen right to Westbrook, short throw to LJ, screen left to Westbrook.

What everyone also needs to realize is that the Eagle's D dominated the division when the offensive talent of the rest of the division was absolutely horrible. Now that the offensive talent in the division has significantly improved, philly's D has declined. More than a coincidence there. They have always just blitzed everyone into oblivion...which worked when guys like Quincy Carter and Patrick Ramsey and a broken, washed up Kurt Warner were running the opposing offenses and WRs like Amani Toomer and Michael Westbrook were the biggest threats. Now guys like Plax, Terry Glenn, and Santana Moss with guys like Brunell, Bledsoe, and Manning will burn your blitz enough times to beat you.

I just see the eagles as a non-factor this year. They'll be lucky to steal 2 division games.

Hard for me to chuckle at that. I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there having a good laugh at similar remarks made my Cowboy personnel. That's the wonderful thing about the NFL now. We haven't a clue as to how it will all turn out.
