But would you say that Danny White was overrated -- I never thought he was.

How can you overate a player who was never spoke of that highly in the 1st place ? McNabb is talked about as a top 5 QB in the NFL now, was Danny ever rated that high ? Maybe by us fans of the Cowboys.

Bottom line is both of them have not won the big one when it counted.

McNabb has been dissed by your own town at times.

Would I take him here now, yes.

But this has to be considered...You can't just ignore this...

n 2001 against Tampa Bay in the NFC championship game ...
In 2002 against St. Louis in the NFC championship game ...
In 2003 against Carolina in the NFC championship game ...
In 2004 against New England in the Super Bowl ...

In 2005 interception to Roy Williams to give Dallas the win

No and I have not said McNabb is overrated. I have said that he has choked in big games by throwing ill timed ints late in games that have sealed the eagles fate in those big games.

Peyton Manning has done the same as McNabb in the post season, and he is hands down one of the best in the game. That seperates the two players... That seperates a great QB from a good QB.

I was ready to let this thread go until you stated ...Peyton Manning has done the same as McNabb in the post season, and he is hands down one of the best in the game...

No question, Peyton Manning is higher On the QB pyramid, but isn't your statement somewhat contradicting. You may want to consider cleaning that up just a smidge!

Danny White was an excellent QB who was not only under-rated, but under appreciated. No one seemed to realize how good a QB he was until Hogeboom and Pelluer stepped under center.

Make all the excuses you want about McNabb, but drop the haterade.

People across America hate Shaq ... why? Because he's dominated against your favorite teams. That's why.

Same hate is applied to McNabb. He's killed us so often and so badly, we naturally hate him. But don't let your hate cloud your judgment ... he's a great QB.

I'll bet you there are at least 30 other teams who would rather have McNabb as their QB ... and that includes the Dallas Cowboys.

Let's flash back a few years in Eagle history....

In 2001 against Tampa Bay in the NFC championship game, Donovan McNabb ended the season with an interception in the Eagles final drive.

In 2002 against St. Louis in the NFC championship game, Donovan McNabb ended the season with an interception in the Eagles final drive.

In 2003 against Carolina in the NFC championship game, Donovan McNabb had a statistically amazing game... Yet in the final drive he dropped back and managed to find a Carolina defensive back.

In 2004 against New England in the Super Bowl, Donovan McNabb played a solid game but late in the 4th quarter he was struggling to breathe and couldn't even call the plays in the huddle. McNabb did manage to make it under center just long enough to drop back and hit Rodney Harrison in the chest, ending their season again.

In 2005 after being verbally attacked and psychologically abused by Terrell Owens (note the sarcasm) McNabb and his Eagles were still mathematically capable of making the playoffs, but on Monday night in front of a national audience managed to throw the game away by finding Roy Williams to give Dallas the win. On that same play, he got owned by Bradie James and his season ended on that play.

So in each season Donovan has choked under pressure, and thrown the game away. How does Philly management reward him? By giving him a 100 million dollar contract, and short changing other players (Corey Simon, Bryan Westbrook, Terrell Owens, etc.)

So who is the bad guy in Philly... Donovan or TO? You decide...

Good post. Donny is not a "bad guy" he just can't beat good teams nor throw the ball accurately. Check out the record of teams he beat in their little run.

Of course you'll get post after post resisting the idea for some reason.

He is a good QB that just cannot and will not ever win the BIG ONE. TO is leaving town.
