Anyone else think it is worthless info that he was legally drunk at time of death?

not like he was driving so why does ESPN keep repeating it over and over....

sorry I just had to vent...

Thats what I thought when I heard it.

Just useless info and a bit of a kick in the teeth.

I wouldn't expect for my legacy and/or life to be tainted simply because I was intoxicated when someone else decided to shoot me. I don't know why it should be any different with him.

hmm, all I can say is that when I fall asleep drunk the bed is just about the best thing ever the moment I hit it.

could have been a worse way to go out.

It's gruesome to think about the way he died, but he never felt a thing.

Well then I suppose that only means he certainly never felt a thing when it happened, though I don't know that he did anyway, even if he wasn't drunk.

No reason whatsoever. And I think we all knew he had been drinking since they already said he had been out on the town that night.
Irrelevant information for sure.

I sounds like he was out on the town and came home and fell to sleep on the sofa. She came in while he was asleep and put the gun to his head while he was sleeping and shot him...then put two in his chest before putting another on the other side of his head. This was one deranged woman.

It's definitely relevant that she had marijuana in her system.... It's really only relevant that McNair was drunk if there was some speculation that they got into it or something, but I haven't heard anything like that reported. Until then, I agree it is irrelevant that he was drunk. Last I heard it was still legal to be drunk at home.

at the risk of opening the "pot" debates, why would marijuana be relevant?

I think if she was drunk it would have been relevant . her on anything because she pulled the trigger. when you break the law on any kind of drug or alcohol it is relevant but Mcnair broke no laws

it wouldn't

since this thing was premeditated

but pep being a defense lawyer, he has to practice the blame the illegal substances debate

It's just another piece of the story of Steve McNair and the events leading up to his death.

umm, so when did pot make people shoot people?

It's the same thing as if she were driving drunk and killed someone. Being high/drunk impairs your faculties, and loosens your inhibitions. Things you wouldn't do sober somehow happen when you're drunk/high.

Like I said, if McNair were drunk and got violent with her, then it would be relevant as far as his state goes.

It doesn't mean that if you get high, you're automatically going to shoot someone. But there's also a reason that if you're driving drunk (which you can also be charged with if you're high) and kill someone, that's a lesser charge than capital murder..... there's a question as to whether you had the intent to know what you were doing.
