McQ scores a TD. Book it.

Then the questions begin....."Why wasn't he in the games during the regular season.....". Argh!

I took that he doesn't trust Flozell anymore(he's regressed lateley) and wants McQ waiting in the wings in case Flo has a complete meltdown. I think McQ is the starting LT next season, Flo might be traded.

Right, if Flozell struggles with Wistrom, he'll put McQuistan in there.

Appears to me he passed Fabini on the depth chart, maybe Parcells trusts him more than Fabini right now

By that logic why would Bill announce that McQ was playing? If we all know what that means for Fabini then clearly Holmgren does too.

Motivational tactic for some unspecified underachieving Olineman?

I don't think it really makes a difference. How much is Fabini's experience really going to help him today as opposed to McQuistan's lack of it?

I think Parcells sees the writing on the wall that Fabini is done. He had a terrible training camp and his most notable contributions this year have been as a decoy eligible receiver. He's been a bust... might as well throw the kid to the fire and see if he has it, because you know Fabini doesn't.

I think McQ was active last week because BP thought that we would run away w/ the Lions game. Unfortunately he was wrong. He may also be thinking of next year, to see if the guy can play. Also the comment about the "tackle eligible" play is a good point. But I think he's thinking that if he comes back he will be looking at OL in the draft - at least a couple to replace Rivera and Fabini...

My thought was that if there was an injury Fabini would be a better option than a rookie seeing his first game action of his career in a playoff game.

Is it possible that Parcells doesn't take the inactives on the road?. He did say something about wanting him to experience a playoff game, maybe he thinks he has a future here.

Maybe. But if Fabini has been as bad as Parcells' actions have dictated, I don't think you'd be able to notice a difference. At the very least, McQuistan's skill would make up the difference, assuming he has any.

Every chance Fabini has had to play this year he has looked pretty good.

The problem with rookies looking good in practice is that you don't know how they're going to react on the field. See Pat Watkins this year.

When you're in the playoffs, it's a big risk and the experience is worth quite a bit.

Do the inactives and the practice squad members get to be on the sidelines of home games?

So McQuistan is going to be active -- presumably instead of Fabini -- today. I certainly understand McQ being active against Det to get him some experience. But today? This seems to be exactly the situation where we would want an experienced guy instead of a rookie in case there was an injury.

If Bill now wants to get the guy experience, then why wouldn't he just have been the active backup all season? And if that were the case, why have Fabini at all?

not that hard to understand honestly, Fabini just isnt any good and at this point McQuistan is probably alot better

Its pretty obvious guys....

If Parcells thinks that this guy has a chance to play in the this league at an above average level at some point in time , he is just trying to get him acclimated to playoff atmosphere. Its one thing to sit on the bench being inactive watching the game and actually suiting up and maybe getting in on Kick Return team..

You want to get your younger players some "playoff experience"

Its just like a high school football team dressing JV and select Freshman for tournmant time. Most wont even sniff the field. Its just an experience for players with potential. Not really sure why you guys assume its because of anything else...
