Mcshay 3 round mock

i can definitely see this. Not sure about TE but it's a good possibility they go CB in 1st, offense(WR/TE/OL) in 2nd and Safety in the 3rd. You're definitely going to hear Tapper's name a lot as it relates to the selections made in 2 weeks.

I can see this. I am not sure about Wilson, but if King or a couple of other CB's are in there I can see it. I can also see Moton in the 2nd.

I think anybody bringing up Tapper's name at all is making a serious mistake. The guy did absolutely nothing for his entire rookie season. And given his condition, there's no way of knowing if he will hold up any better this coming season. It would be foolish to look at him and any production they might get as anything more than a possible bonus.

Between him and Lawrence, you've got two guys with back issues that you can't depend on. That makes defensive end more of a need, not less of one.

You don't seem to realize that extension was nothing but a move to allow us to clear cap space if we needed it. There is no gauranteed money in there.
I do realize that. Do we really need to do the 2nd rd TE AGAIN?

I know CB rankings are all over the place, but is Wilson a top 5 CB in this class by any account? It could go anyway and I don't think anyone truly knows, but if I had to bet I'd say Wilson ends up a lot closer to 60 than 28.

If Rod Marinelli truly wants to transition the defense to more of a Tampa 2 zone look, then Wilson is one of the best corners in this draft for that. He has some of the best ball skills of any of the corners in this draft and is very physical and good in the run game. The biggest knock on him is long speed and ability to keep up on intermediate to deep routes. That wouldn't be a problem though, as Marinelli's zone responsibilities rarely have the outside corners responsible more than 10-15 downfield.

Chairs
It is all about the chairs in the DL meeting room

Another mock where we take a CB at 28.

I find it hard to believe that they'd have one of these late 1st round/early 2nd grade CB's rated so much higher than the rest that they'd have to pull the trigger at 28.

Trade into the 30's, pick up an extra 3rd and you'll still get a CB you want.

Yes, let's trade down so we can grab a few more guys - nevermind that some won't make the roster
In this draft, trading down and getting a extra 3rd or 4th might be a good idea. Very deep in positions the Cowboys need. That extra pick will definately make the roster.

It's McShay and Kiper. For some reason, those guys just love to mock defensive backs to the Cowboys.

As a UF Alum, I've seen almost every game Wilson has played in. He's a very instinctive player that covers and tackles well.

Tapper is like Matt Johnson. You remember. Extra draft pick.

If they keep trying every April, they might nail it eventually.

Now it looks like the "indulge the old man" round. Where Jerry gets to step to the plate and either hit a homerun or strike out.
I agree it seems like a play round, but sometimes it is just to throw a bone to whomever is sulking. Like Garrett did when he did not get Eifert, he got Escobar instead.
