Just said it on Mel's ESPN2 mock special. Even said most of the people he's talked to in the league has confirmed that with some even believing he's better than Lawrence.

Meanwhile Kiper still has Fields ahead of Wilson but has conceded that the league sees Wilson as the 2nd best QB which is why he mocked him at 2.

Long-time front runners, like Lawrence, always seem to get nitpicked apart by those trying to find a flaw, any flaw..
It's how Leaf entered the discussion with Manning and how RG3 entered the discussion with Luck.

About 3/4ths through the season this was my conclusion as well.

Wilson > Fields

Wilson doesn't have more uspide than Lawrence but he's already got so much skill that a NFL QB needs to be a success. He's a plug and play starter with Mahomes / Rodgers type of skill set.

I'd love it if we made a move for him and got some compensation for Dak. Would be great for our team.

McShay, Kiper and Nagy all agree that Fields is the most polaring player of the QBs. Some in the league even see him as the 4th or 5th QB. Kiper says he's sticking with him. That they did this same thing to Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.

I wouldn't mind Wilson if we can't sign Dak but there is no way he will make it to 10.

Agreed.

This stuff is so predictable. If two teammates come out that play the same position it inevitably becomes a hot take to say “some would argue Player X (less touted) is even better than Player Y (more heralded player).”

If Jets want Prescott and Prescott wants the Jets....and Jerry wants to deal what he considers his self scouted and selected draft steal.....then I can see it happening.

Wilson with these WRs and his upside as a vertical passer.. Maaaaaaaaaan..

I want to see who would select him over Lawrence, it's all BS gossip.
Kind of agree.
anyway
Only one that matters or can ever be proven is Jacksonville.
And they are taking Lawrence
:hammer:

Didn’t know you were an NFL scout. Impressive.

Does Wilson's arm really compare to Mahomes'? Admittedly, I haven't watched a lot on this kid, but Mahomes has all-world, potentially best all-time pure arm talent. I have a hard time believing Wilson is anywhere in that realm.

I like Wilson right behind Lawrence. He is the second best QB in this draft and I expect him to be a big success, assuming a coach doesn’t screw him up. The gap between him and Lawrence isn’t that big IMO, but the gap between those two and the rest of the QB’s is pretty big.

If I was the Jets, I’d take Wilson in a second and trade Darnold for whatever they can get for him.

I'm 85 percent sure that's what the Jets will do.

I've had Wilson rated as the #2 QB all along. Fields reminds me of so many other QB's of his type, athletic movers with a decent arm. They have some success on a very good team in college and come into the league with a lot of hype and very little upside. IMHO, he will be average at best.

I have Lance as the #3 rated QB, Mac Jones as #4 and Fields at #5. For comparison sake, Mills and Ehlinger are in that conversation at #5 too.

He's got a big arm yes..

He's really got just about everything.

I guess my worry for him would be that his frame doesn't look as sturdy as some of these other guys but he's got the height to put on some size.

Ever see Tom Brady? He's never had the "sturdy" frame. How about Eli? Great physical specimen, eh?

Some bony looking guys are just as tough as the Cam Newton or Dak type body, if he didn't have a lot of college injuries I'd not worry about that, you never know....
