"I didn't know how athletic he is."

You've got to be kidding me. At any rate, he said that he could go #9 to us.

I wouldn't hate the pick at all, especially with Spears looking to be on the way out.

As 5 techniques

Jordan > Dareus > Watt

I heard he was a stud all year, I'd definitely rather have a guy that produces than a guy that has great measurables but a bad attitude.

I'm looking forward to theebs spotting the Dallas draft board again this year.

Dareus, Jordan, Watt would make more sense. Dareus can play all three spots and is just the kind of brute you look for like Ngata and Raji.

I love Jordans pass rush skills..I don't think it's even close (pass rush skills) between him and Dareus..that's why I have Cam rated higher. Cam is far more explosive

I personally think he's more like Wilfork vs Ngata/Raji because they are better pass rushers, but maybe I'm wrong........maybe he'll bring some pressure.

Dareu is 320 now.

He'll be 330 in year.

The next we'll be able to draft a sub 5.0 330 pound DE/NT is MAYBE in a decade.

And if I'm going to draft a 2-5 sack 3-4 DE/NT I'd much rather have it be a NT. Much harder to find.

I'm reading that Watt has been very impressive at the combine.

When I think of the Watt pick, I think of a guy who will go out and play and not be concerned with how much he is making or what he didn't care. Steak and potatoes guy who are exactly the type of guys who help win championships.

People scream Chris Long and Justin Smith because they aren't sure how else to compare, but Watt is going to be in the league a long time.

As if him being the next Justin Smith would be a bad thing.

Watt might be the best DE in the class when all is said and done, he's the total package.

If we are going to take a "non-flash" pick (i.e. make a play for peterson or getting prince) then I would prefer trading down and grabbing an OL and an extra pick rather than take a DL.

People have no clue........

6-5/290, 4.77 speed, 34 reps, 37 vert, 10 foot broad jump.

20 TFL's and 7 sacks this year.

14 PBU's the last 2 years. Unheard of from a DE.

Greg Ellis was in the league a long time, still shouldn't have been taken in the top ten.

I know, what more could you want? lol

Watt has measurables that are very close to what Mario Williams had coming out.

I think the guy will be a very good pro for many years and is the type of guy that will go hard all the time. Not many question marks with his game from what I understand. May not be an elite pass rusher, but will get the job done at DE. Not sure about him at pick 9. I just feel like after the few truly elite players that there are numerous guys that are good but somewhat comparable. I think a trade down is the way to go in this draft. Can get guys like Carimi or Watt later in the first round and pick up a 3rd rounder. There are lots of good players to be found in the 2nd and 3rd. An extra 3rd could allow us to move around in the 2nd or even back up into the 1st. I really hope we take advantage of our high draft pick and maximize what we can do with it.

Watt is much bigger and a better athlete than Ellis was.

For the vast majority of his career Ellis played on a 4-3 DL with 1.5 to 2 players on it. Amazingly he got better when Ware and Rat came on the scene.

He also played most of his career with a mediocre O and was therefore always playing from behind.

Worst of both worlds.

I was commenting on the he'll play in the league for a long time as a reason to take him. If that's the reason it's dumb.
