I have been to several Cowboys games at the Meadowlands, but the 2 that stand out for me are.

#1. 10/10/1976 first ever game at giant stadium. Cowboys won 24-14 and it was the 1st and only time I got to see Staubach, Landry and company live.

and

#2. 1/2/1994 the Emmitt Smith separated shoulder game. That game clinched the NFC east, on our way to our 2nd super bowl in 2 years.

Emmitt single armed beating the Giants for home field by far tops my list. Quite possibly the greatest NFL performance ever.

Gotta go with that one.

The Deion game in 1998 was a good one, as were the two Emmitt games.

The 2003 game was great from the standpoint that after Quincy Carter threw an interception on the first series of the game that Ralph Brown took back for a touchdown, the stadium was as loud as I have ever heard it (I've been to 16 Cowboy games at the Meadowlands).

When Cundiff hit the 51 yarder to send the game to overtime, you could hear a pin drop. Awesome.

One other memory was in the 2002 game. Campo's last game vs. the Giants as a head coach. There was a play where a player was knocked out of bounds, and took Campo off of his feet. No Cowboy player/staffer helped him up. The lack of actions spoke volumes.

It has not all been peaches and cream at the Meadowlands for the Cowboys. Us old timers will recall the game in 1980 when Dorsett ran for 183 yards and Dallas still lost a shootout 38-35. Danny White threw five picks. I remember Brent Musburger was so excited about the result.

The next year in 1981, Dallas met the Giants at the end of the season in a game that meant little to the Cowboys. They had the division clinched and could not catch the 49ers for home field. But this is back when Dallas played to win meaningless games. It was a windy day in New Jersey, and the wind did not play favorites that day. Both teams had problems with the wind blowing the ball around. Dallas won the overtime coin toss but Landry decided to kick. After a back and forth overtime with both teams seeing the ball, the Giants managed a field goal to secure a wild-card berth for themselves.

The fact that it locked up home field makes it my favorite.
