Lawrence Taylor was an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. DeMarcus Ware spent a lot of his career as an outside linebacker in a 3-4. In fact, it was after we moved him to DE full time that he started having injuries and his time here was cut short. Parcells drafted him as a 3-4 linebacker.
Carter has "alignment flexibility" that the Giants are expected to utilize, so they won't just be lining him up at end.
There have been some smaller players that line up exclusively at end, but overall, you don't want to wear those guys down taking on run blockers down after down. Offenses like to lean on those smaller guys with players that outweigh them by 50 to 80 pounds and wear them down. That's one of the reasons the 3-4 became a popular defense because you could take those smaller guys and make it where they didn't have to line up across from an OT on every play.
Doesn't matter what they're called you're trying to tell me it doesn't get physical as a linebacker i'm telling you that most linebackers need to be bigger than a defensive end that's a fact they're usually have to be more physical as a linebacker you're missing the point and I'm sorry but I just pointed out tons of defensive ends it doesn't matter what they're called if they're rushing the passer and stopping the run they're still in a physical position they're still getting banged on I don't get where all this is coming from..
it doesn't matter if they're coming from the outside off the ball wherever they're coming from as a linebacker or a defensive end they're getting the same contact they're making the same contact they're the same size!!!!
i'm trying to point that out Abdul Carter the same guy, he got drafted high because of what Parsons has been doing in the NFL....FACT same size same positon picked higher,,
You just don't understand football apparently you're trying to convince me that him being at defensive end of his size is causing him more contact and physicality than if he was a linebacker and it's absolutely false in essence a weak side linebacker or an outside linebacker anybody but a middle linebacker they're still doing the same things if that more physical as a linebacker a lot of the same stuff that overshown has gotten hurt at he's a linebacker pretty much the same size as parsons...

These guys are being utilized very similar to Parsons, so it is a matter where he's lining up he's going to get the same abuse it's the same LTaylor biggest thing he did was rush the passer his body type was the same... I think that's what you're missing here and in fact he did cocaine a lot,
I mean outside of that they have the same job description, even if their title is not the same, do you not get that knock knock...
say it one more time it does not matter if they're considered a weak side or outside linebacker or defensive end they do pretty much all the same things those are facts..
I can't give it through your head that it doesn't matter he's not going to have a longer career playing linebacker off the ball then defensive end if anything a lot of linebackers are tackling running backs as well on more occasions than a defensive end wouldso linebackers actually would be in more physical situations by your perspective.
That's not my perspective we're talking about guys running really fast and tackling people on a regular basis they're all being blocked but the defensive ends on the outside Are in no more physical danger than an outside linebacker that's what outside means and most of them rushed the passer or try to keep the running backs from coming around the corner that's the exact same job description as a weak sideline backer and/OR a defensive end..
you know no matter what you're called you're doing the same things so his weight in is not a concern is what I'm telling you why you don't ask him why don't you ask his coaches , not one of them is says we're concerned about his weight so we need him to be at 260....NOT ONE!!
I'm doing this cause I'm not answering back anymore this is it i'm done for the day and for this whole thread the reason he's a more physical harm and I already said it once I must say it one more time it's there it's too easily are able to double him or chip him on a triple block because we don't have enough other weapons to make them pay for doing so that's what's putting him in physical harm but when they have more effective pass rushers on the other side he will get less doubles and he will be better and we'll have to not worry about his weight i'm not worried about his weight at all but I'm just hoping that put your mind at rest...
