Why does Marinelli just absolutely refuse to blitz? I get you don't want to do it all the time for fear of getting burned, but I think we should do it early and often to at least make the QB weary of it.

It worked well last year against Washington, the game we won without Romo.

We aren't getting to the QB. At all. We NEED to change it up. I hope he's more aggressive in the playoffs.
I was thinking about this the other day. I was actually wondering. Is that his game plan? Blitz occasionally come regular season, and then completely change your game plan in the playoffs? I mean, it would be like Rocky fighting right handed until the 15th and then switching to southpaw. Worked out well for him.

Saving it for the playoffs to surprise opposition. :D

Oh, we blitz. You just can't tell. That's the problem.

We may occasionally bring 5 but rarely do we really blitz. I think we probably bring 3 rushers more than we bring 5 but that mat be an exaggeration - I am not sure.

I'm the first person that will always post about some fans finding the negative in every win. Just try to enjoy what we're seeing. It's incredible. But you're right to be pessimistic. I'm nervous about the defense and we know the intensity cranks up in the playoffs. No doubt about it, The Falcons are scary to think about playing. I'm not excited about the Giants in a couple of weeks. If Rodgers gets the Packers in the playoffs as a Wild Card, I would hate to see him again. I am enjoying the ride but what you are saying is true and I'm hoping that the defense can hold up. That's a lot of hope

The absolute best pass rusher we have is Orlando Scandrick on the blitz. Yikes.

Because we aren't good at it. At present, if we do we will most likely bet burned deep. Without Mo on the back end we would be in trouble.

I actually wondered the same thing.

I would bet you are correct that we bring 3 more than we blitz.

That use to be true. Now he just jogs back there half heartedly. I almost feel embarrassed for him to be honest. If that is what he is reduced to these days we would be better off with McFadden playing.

If we lock things up over the next few games, there isn't a valid reason why you wouldn't put Romo in to get some playing time. You never know when he might be called upon and you would love for him to have some game action.

we will see. Im just excited to think of the opportunities this offseason for our defense.
Yeah, me too. If Jaylon Smith pans out, make a FA signing, and draft defense in round 1 and 2, we could turn it around in one off-season.

Now, if we get lucky and fetch a 1st for Romo, then well.... Game over.

Because Dallas has not been good at blitzing. The defense does not have the players to be overly aggressive and trying to force the issue has given up big plays. Dallas forcing teams to drive the field has worked changing it up now is not a good ideal. He is playing the cards he has been dealt and that is not going to change until he can get more talent on the field.

You guys are a fun group. It's ok to be concerned but the landscape changes every week. One week Atl looks dangerous the next they look inconsistent. .. Seattle @ Tampa happens.. etc.. the road will sort itself and explain itself. Things will be come more clear by the week obviously. Just beat Minnesota.
