Meat on the bone

IMHO, the D left a lot of meat on the bone in this game. They didn't get very much pressure on Eli (although they never seem able to do that for some reason).

I'm specifically calling out A Brown, who looked scared trying to tackle Barkley on 2 plays in particular, which gave him 2 of his best runs. And I believe both runs eventually resulted in points for the gmen. He's going to have to be better than that or he won't be out there very long.

Jeff Heath missed a sure fire INT. I know they are coached to bat the ball down, but good grief when you have it uncontested in your hands like that just catch it! Doing that almost resulted in a hail Mary TD at the end of the half as the batted ball went straight to a giant WR, but luckily bounced off his poor hands. That play may have changed the game.

I admit that I didn't see the entire game as I was at a tattoo party getting some ink done but I did see most of it off and on. D-Law and Armstrong were the only 2 DE's I noticed getting any pressure. We'll need more than that going forward. I never heard or remember seeing Hyder in the game. Did he even play?

The DT's didn't look stellar either. Thought Collins would eat Eli for dinner, didn't happen. Woods and Covington got worked.

What did you guys see that I didn't mention?

They made barkley put the ball on the ground in the first run and we didn’t come up with it. That would have changed the game early on. The next run was for 60.

The D could have played better overall.

However, Byron was limited. D Law is rusty and not 100% yet. No Robert Quinn either.

It will take a little time for them to come together-- but I think it will. Give the Giants offense some credit too-- Barkley is a generational talent at RB running behind an improved OL-- and Manning has always been able to throw against us.

1) Manning is notorious in getting ball out fast, so we rarely get sacks on him 2) players are told to bat the ball down on hail Marys rather than try to catch it in the air and fumbling in their hands

gee thanks for that amazing incite that I didn't already mention in my original post.

Armstrong is one of my pet cats. One of few University of Kansas players in the league beyond a couple older DBs. I hope he continues to develop so we can forget about the reinstatement of a suspended player.

Heath did the right thing. How would catching the ball be any better than batting it down? With that many Giants players around, how do you know they don't cause him to fumble, or strip the ball away and get a TD? No, he did the best thing on that play.

You can not talk about getting ink and not show a pic...so get to it!

I thought the linebackers were mia for most of the game. Kept waiting on Jaylon or LVE to make something happen. They did ok, just very underwhelmed.

LVE had an early mistake but began making plays all game long.

I think it was 70 lol. yes more then half his total yards on one run..

LVE has looked rusty all preseason. Him and Jaylon need to play better as does the $100M guy up front. Expectation from D-Law from now is going to be 1-2 sacks a game with a lot of pressures.

true 1 sack, no INTs, way too many chink yards, but they nearly had 3 fumbles..that first one not recovered would have been huge..they have their work cut out for them AP is angry because he didnt play, Guice is solid.. Case isnt bad at all..

on the road..get ready

. LVE did make some plays. He got robbed of a sack on the intentional grounding call and got credit for half a sack with DLAW. The Giants were just throwing the ball all game putting them in coverage.

I think after that first drive the Cowboys line was really focusing on lane control and not allowing Barkley to kill us which leads to far less of a pass rush
