Media bias

The whole thing was a joke, on both shows, on Colbert and on Foxx.

Lighten up.

Colbert is the best thing going in that genre IMO.

He is much better that stewart and just great doing those interviews.

The media is the Devil!!

I'm sorry, I just had to throw that in!!

I bow to Colbert. Seriously, The Word is the best thing on television, and he does it every night. It's amazing.

My problem with ESPN's coverage in specific is the way they mislead viewers.

I'll never forget a clip they showed, what, two years ago in camp following Testaverde being named the starter.

Parcells was talking about the backup position and being somewhat critical of Romo and Henson. But you know Parcells, he'll go through a long rant and rarely mention the player's name again.

ESPN took that clip that criticized an unnamed quarterback -- though Parcells had earlier indicated he was speaking of the backups -- and then placed video of Testaverde to accompany Parcells' voice.

Talk about misleading.

That example has just always stuck out in my mind. And it's not just Cowboys stuff that they do this with, I'm sure.

You may not like him, his arrogance, or agree with his opinion, but I don't see him making stuff up.

you may not see it but he does regularly, in fact he is the king of spin and has the nerve to say "no spin zone"

so it was a joke to make him look bad like that? i dont think so, its pretty clear they edited it to make him look worst than it originally was

Oh come on, what did you want them to do show the whole clip?? It's like 2-3 minutes... They showed the part where Colbert said "say something that would lose you the election if you were unopposed..." and the laughter wasn't edited out. It was obviously tongue and cheek

ya, they should have shown the whole thing, or at least said it was a joke, they acted like he was being serious or soemthing

I think it is generally accepted definition of the man for anyone who isn't blinded by their personal agendas.

You really need a dose of reality.

They know it was a joke, they know it was on the Colbert Report, they even know it was on the Comedy Channel.

They edited the clip to show colbert telling the guy what to say and the end product of the guy saying it.

Whether they cut out parts where the guy could not follow simple instructions or not...the result is the same.

Colbert asked him to say it and he did.

Geez.

There are many examples one could find of these types of shows and media doing things to switch stuff around in order to spin something....this is NOT one of them.

I hate to sound like im backing TO, but I listened to NFL on sirius radio all day thursday and they ripped TO for not playing at 100% healthwise and then turn around and praise Carson Palmer for doing the same thing.

Are you seriously comparing TO's injury to Palmers? This is a joke right? You are a troll?

Doesn't have to be a troll to make that comparison.

From everything I have heard Palmer is through his rehab and the reason he is not wanting to play is mental.

I guess it has become some sort of big story in that neck of the woods.

He basically came out and admitted that he was worried and scared.

So honest to the point that the coach now says he will handle any questions about it because although being honest it did not sign too good to hear your starting QB saying he was basically scared and worried.

....

So with that said His rehab is over and he is just worried about playing.

TO, if we gather correctly, was just nervous about playing.

It could be a valid comparison.

TOs injury short term rehab, Carsons was a more serious injury and rehab time however he has also had since the playoff time last season to work on the injury.

Come on, that is a huge stretch. Palmer suffered a potentially career ending injury. He endured surgery, months of rehab, and oh yah he has ANOTHER HUMANS TENDON IN HIS KNEE. Hell yah he is scared. Who wouldn't be? Another injury to that knee, which is obviously more susceptible, could impair his ability to walk properly, let alone play football.

Owens tweaked his hamstring in practice. Says it wasn't serious, he just didn't want to aggrivate it. This compounded with the other obvious factors: Owens is prima dona, he is on a new team, a new system, he said he and Bledsoe were not syncing.

Seems like apples and oranges to me. This being said, I think the entire Owens situation was blown out of proportion. And if he needed the time to rest I am glad he took it, and if he needs more he should continue to rest. I just do not see any similarities between palmer and owens.

Still the idea of the comparison IMO is that both are worried about their injuries.

One Turd (TO) is getting slammed for it, Golden Boy QB is not.
