Has anyone ever requested and received a media pass to a Cowboys game/function?

That being said, we have contacts within the Dallas Cowboys organization, but no one should be "claiming" to represent CowboysZone.com without our permission beforehand.

The NFL and almost all other pro-sports have very tough rules on how many media credentials can be granted per game. The teams want to accomodate everyone they can but there is a pecking order. The National media and major local tv, radio and print outlets get first priority. Then comes the out of town media that consistanly covers the Cowboys or whatever team. The out of town media is granted access based on market size and proximity to Dallas. So basically once the Dallas media is taken care of then comes Ft. Worth and then the rest of the Dallas suburbs that have legitimate media outlets. Then comes places like San Antonio, Austin, Lubbock, El Paso, Wichita Falls, Tyler etc....
Usually all of those places eat up the total media credential allotment and there is no more more room for aditional passes to be granted.

Pick a game that won't have as many media requests.
If there is a member of the team or the organization that has ties to your area, it's important to focus on that when writing your request. Tell them that this is an opportunity to feature this player/person in their local paper, etc.
And you might consider talking to Brett Daniels. He works under Dalrymple, but he seems to be a little more accommodating.
It's a shame really especially when you consider the relationship between the Washington Commanders and ExtremeSkins.com. Unfortunately, a lot of that starts at the top and when you have older team owners, they seem to put less priority, money and consideration into the internet beyond what they "need" to do for their own web site.Dallas said:Excellent post Reality. Exactly! We are always open to having fans who go to training camps, games, etc. represent the site. This leads to practice photos, game photos, news, rumors, etc. which is great for all Cowboys fans, not just the ones on this site.Dallas said:Nobody is baggin on you bro. Folks just wanted to make sure that not everyone was out there stating they represented the Zone w/o going through the proper channels. Those proper channels being pretty much...Reality himself.
