‘It doesn't affect anyone but me anyway, so why is it a big deal,’ QB asks

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady spoke for the first time about his impending fatherhood, telling Details magazine being a dad will "be a challenge" but he doesn't understand or like the intense media coverage of his private life.

Brady, 29, is expecting his first child with actress Bridget Moynahan, whom he broke up with in December. Brady is now dating model Gisele Bundchen.

"It doesn't affect anyone but me anyway, so why is it a big deal?" Brady said, according to Details magazine.

Brady, who has won three Super Bowls with the Patriots, said he isn't scared but considers fatherhood "a huge unknown," Details magazine reported.

"I want to prepare for it the way I do everything else in my life," Brady said, Details reported. "I make lists. I make plans. But being a father is different. I think that people go into it and find out, holy (bleep), I have no control."

The Patriots quarterback also said he and Moynahan know the gender of their baby, but he declined to reveal it, the magazine reported.

The Patriots quarterback also discussed his relationship with Bundchen, Details magazine reported, saying he likes the glamorous lifestyle.

"I'm attracted to women who are smart and funny and ambitious and have lives of their own and great families. Isn't that what attracts anyone?" he said, Details reported.

"People want to go out and travel around and meet cool people. I could just go live in Vermont, but is that what I really want?"

It sounds like there is only 1 baby on the way.

I thought there was also a Bundchen in the oven.

Yo Tom, did ya think winning Super Bowls was going to buy you any privacy? You upped the ante on scrutiny big time. Can't have it both ways.

He is right. Its really not any of our concern how many kids he has. It doesn't affect us.

Don't be a celebrity if you don't want the attention.

I get sick of celebs complaining about not having privacy.

Correction: "It doesn't affect anyone but Bridget, the baby, me and--if we remain in a relationship together--Gisele, anyway, so why is it a big deal?" Once Brady stops projecting the "I'm the only victim here" persona, perhaps the media will back off and respect their privacy somewhat more.

Hammer x 100.

Date normal, non-celebrity women if you don't like the attention. It's not that complicated.

The fact he's a celebrity would make any normal, non-celeb type a celebrity by virtue of their association.

I can understand some frustration Celebrities have. You’re trying to have dinner and people will not leave you alone as soon as you ask them for some privacy the person gets upset with the Celebrities. Emmitt Smith talked about this when he was with Dallas as he and his girl friend at the time (Now wife) would constantly be disturbed while at restaurants by those seeking autographs and of course the people who would spot him and follow him as he would be driving home. I would think this would creep out most of us. Yes these people are in the public eye but they are still people who deserve some amount of privacy or should I say common courtesy.

I don't agree, WG. If he's dating some Boston-area stockbroker, no matter how gorgeous she is, it's not going to be national news like when he's impregnating famous actresses and models. :)

Celebrities are probably annoyed on occasion by the general public invading their privacy. It's the media and paparazzi constantly stalking them which creeps them out; as they have every right to be.

Can't have it both ways. You want to be famous and make a ton of money? That's the trade off. You want to be able to go out and be a normal person? Get a regular job like other folks.

I agree and I think the media and paparazzi go over board at times.

I disagree. I think some do cross the line when dealing with Celebrities they are people and that does not change no matter how much you make or what you do for a living.

No question that the media and paparazzi go over board, a lot of the times. However, the celebrities themselves (and this applies to most hollywood celebrities than athletes) use the paparazzi to advance thier careers.

At the same time, there are plenty of celebrities, both actors and athletes, who have managed to keep thier private lives very private.
