I'd rather have caison and bowman

I hope we stay far away from Bowman. Reports from senior bowl are that he has concentration issues. Ala Troy Williamson

I like looking at Kipers player ranks but lets just say his insight into the machinations of NFL clubs is specious at best.

He'd probably be the first to tell you he doesn't project players to teams as well as others. He appears to be more about getting the values right for the players and in that regard he's better than most.

Sweed couldn't carrry Manningham's jock. Sweed is the most over-rated WR in the draft as far as I'm concerned.

Blargh!! No thanks!
Couldn't agree more. Sweed hasn't done squat imo

I wouldn't be crushed...but I'd be disappointed if we took them in the first, depending on what else was on the board at the time.

For example I don't like Manningham over Sweed at 22. If we take a WR there, and Sweed is there, I'd rather we took him.

I'm sorry, but what has Sweed done lately, except for get hurt, and rehurt? I would definitely take Manningham over Sweed.

And Mendenhall would just be icing on the cake.

Man, that would be one helluva first round if we got those two guys. I have to say that for the first time, Mel has picked the two guys I want.

If we pick a corner in the first, i'd like to see Leodis McElvin from Troy. This guy is gonna be something on the pro level. Of all the guys at the senoir bowl....he has the best hips. Curious what his speed will be at the combine. As for RB, I wouldn't cry if we got Mendenhall, Jones or Johnson....either would be fine.

If we take a rb at #28 it better be Chris Johnson or Felix Jones.

Darn right!

If Kiper's mock played out that way we should take Antoine Cason and Johnson.

If M.Jenkins drops to #18, we should move up and grab him, then grab Johnson (no homo) with #28. And what in the he!! happened to Kenny Philips FS Miami? He's projected by most scouts as a top 15 talent, and I don't see him in the mock.

7 New England Patriots (from SF) *Aqib Talib, CB Kansas

8 Baltimore Ravens Sedrick Ellis, DT USC

11 Buffalo Bills *Malcolm Kelly, WR Oklahoma

29 San Francisco 49ers (from IND) *James Hardy, WR Indiana

30 Green Bay Packers Keith Rivers, LB USC

31 New York Giants Dan Connor, LB Penn St.

32 New England Patriots Forfeited pick

There is no way SD takes Reggie w/ Jammar and Cromartie in place. I think Dallas needs to take Reggie Smith at 22 if he is still on the board.

1st Round DT very doubtful the DOlphins have already said they are shopping the first round pick, Parcells does not seem very keen to believe they will pay a first round pick what he's *not worth* (sarcasm)

this mock draft is crap

Kiper's mocks aren't worth a damn until about a day before the draft. It's obvious that his main sources are college assistant coaches, so he usually just goes with guys that get raves from these coaches. As the draft nears, he finally tallies enough info from everybody covering the draft to come up with a better mock.

1) I doubt we take a WR in the first round. We haven't since taking Harper in '91 and with BP saying he didn't like WR's that early and I think Wade said the same thing, I don't think Jerry will do it.

2) I doubt we end up drafting 22nd and 28th. In fact, I doubt we end up with two #1 picks.

Kelly is the WR I've wanted since fall. But I'm going by the assumption that he won't be around by then so that is why I was looking at Sweed. Now, admittedly, I don't watch him weekly or anything so I could be way off on how good I thought he was.

If Kelly is still sitting there, and we got him, I'll do the happy dance.

Exactly right. I bet we take a CB with #22, and trade #28 for a high 2nd+? where we'll be able to choose a WR, then get a RB with our #2. JMO.
