Mel Kiper is an absolute idiot. I have no idea why ESPN still employs him and has him working for them. Here are some comments he said recently.

Yes, I'm talking about his two high safety comment. Here it is (along with commentary from former Browns QB Brady Quinn). Before I proceed, the remainder of this OP, as the Pat McAfee Show likes to say entering their 1 pm segment, is meant to be comedic informative. I'm going to be using the remainder of this OP to rip into Mel Kiper with the intention of being comedic. If you're someone who just wants to see the video and comment, feel free. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy this opportunity, and there are many, to mock one of the biggest idiots at ESPN. In fact, in part of the OP (warning, there might be some adult language because it's from the Pat McAfee Show), I will post a video from the Pat McAfee show where one of the cohosts does his Mad Mel Kiper cosplays with, imo, hilarious precision. Enjoy!

What an absolute IDIOT!! So, with all the rules that are made to benefit offenses and punish defences, the QBs and offenses through the first two weeks have looked.....out of sorts, partly because they don't play vets in the preseason if they don't have to...wait a minute, that's too logical for :espn:.

In the words of Chris Collinsworth, here's a guy who has supbar mock drafts and draft insights who thinks he has a better idea......banning two high safeties......I'm sorry WHAT in the world is Mel Kiper even talking about? The offense sucks and don't play their QBs in the preseason, so let's punish the defence some more like the good whipping boys that side of the ball has been for the last 10 years because of morons like Kiper. Let's make playing defence even harder!! Let's take away one of the best weapons a DC has in his arsenal because Mel Kiper sucks at projecting QBs. I mean, this is a guy who actually said on air that 1. Johnny Manziel was going to be a great QB and that 2. Mahomes was going to bust. Let that sink in! I've seen better mock drafts on this forum and the old Cowboys forum from those of us who do this for free. Yet, Mel gets paid handsomely to make even worse guesses than us! Hey ESPN! Can you pay us instead?.

Here's the Pat McAfee Show trolling Mel Kiper. Again, warning, there is adult language because it's the Pat McAfee Show. It's posted for the intention of adding to the comedy of this OP and thread.

I still have a bad cough (which has been addressed in an appointment today, hopefully, there will be improvement). I was laughing hysterically when I first heard this (this was also the first time I learned about Kiper's comments). The back and forth between Mad Mel and Chuck Pagano was absolutely hilarious!!!!

So yeah! I hope what little credibility that Mel Kiper had is gone after the stupid comment he made. His mock drafts suck. Most of the mock drafts here are better than some of the mock drafts he's put out in the last 3-5 years, and he actually gets to go to some of the combine events as a media member!! What I'm saying is that Cowboyszone is a more credible source for mock drafts than Mel Kiper, who gets paid to do this. And it goes to show that ESPN doesn't always have the best of talent. You know it's bad when a show they have (which they bought) on their airwaves rips a guy they think is a draft expert, when he's nothing more than a fraud who's wrong more than a weatherman.

Hope you all enjoyed this roasting of Mel Kiper. I hope you all enjoyed it and join in clowning Kiper.

Mel Kipers idea to mandate bringing safeties closer to the line of scrimmage to get rid of the two high safety defense reminds of people who want to outlaw the defensive shift in baseball . In other words you scout a hitters tendencies and shift players into positions the batter is likely to hit to .

The two high safety in football the defensive shift in baseball are nothing more than teams wanting to play sound defense . Now it’s up to you on offense to counteract that plain and simple . Kiper reminds me of Skip Bayless although Kiper does provide insight on the NFL draft , not sure what Bayless brings to the table .

I agree. Positioning on the field is part of defense. But I don't believe the problem is created by two high safeties. It's the lack of really good QBs throughout the league. Forget future hall of famers, we don't even have a lot of really good QBs out there anymore.

Limiting what the defense can deploy to prevent an offense from scoring in any sport is taking the chess aspect out of the equation.

If you don't like the guy, don't watch him or click on him. Problem solved.

Advocating for him and his staff to be fired is going too far.
