Mel Kiper is now mocking Hampton to the Cowboys at 12

Different type of players, but cannot see Hampton going this high. Gibbs was more of a weapon, where Hampton is more of a bell cow type.

I'm not buying it and I love Hampton, but there is no way I consider him at 12 and ahead of Jeanty.

Kipers full mock has Jeanty going #6. I think he is getting the idea that the RB run may start earlier than anticipated.

draft chatter started mentioning we could see 2 rb's in rd1.
plus last year...rbs went a lil earlier than in years past...so maybe its swinging "back" the other way now.

One think I have noticed about kiper is his rankings are solely based on what he hears; he does not actually do any evaluation at all himself

and its an established fact that teams blow smoke before the draft.

I think Hampton would be a good option if Jeanty is not available, but not at pick 12. If Jeanty is not available, I would prefer Tyler Warren at pick 12 and do everything possible to make a trade to return to the first round and be able to select Hampton. With these two players, the offense would improve a lot.

Hampton is going in the first round. The Cowboys wouldn’t take him at 12 but if the Cowboys could get a trade for a top 75 pick and draft Hampton in the 20s I would be ok with it.

Trade from #12 to around 15 and recoup the lost 4 th rounder from last year. Take a RB with #15. Most likely Hampton at that point

Most of these draft guys will have 4-5 mocks from the end of this year the season til the draft. I can’t see us using the 12th pick on a RB not named Jeanty.

That said, by our 2nd round pick #44, I expect 3-4 RB’s will already be drafted.
Jeanty and Hampton likely will go in the 1st. Henderson and/or Johnson will also probably be gone before #44. That would leave us with one of them or Judkins. You get past those top 5 and its a total crapshoot among the rest.
