Mel Kiper is now mocking Hampton to the Cowboys at 12

Were any key defenders injured last year?
none on the D line that really mattered did it? AND that is where the real problem is. Parsons is really a LB and that is where he will be doing most of his work.
Plus we cannot be sure Overshown will come back all the way and to plan your team expecting it would be foolish.

OR are you trying to excuse that monster loss to the Ain'ts when pretty much everyone was healthy?

When they were for most part healthy teams like the Saints just brought the house down scored on 7 possessions in a row . Horrible . But I know you want Jeanty round one so keep ignoring this lousy D .

I want them to get lucky with whoever they pick.

I like hampton better than jeanty.
It depends on what linemen are available though at 12.
That is assuming the cowboys stay at 12.

trade back a little for another late pick and maybe still get hampton.

I live an hour and half from Chapel Hill and pull for the Heels but would not take Hampton in 1st rd. He was great at UNC but have to fix the front 7 on defense first and foremost.

Small trade down. Select a DT. Take a RB in round 2.

Too many fans are slobbering over Jeanty. I was not impressed. He did not come up big in the bowl game.
When too many fans slobber over a player, it makes me nervous. They are not GM's and are often wrong (though more right than Jerry).

Give me Henderson at RB later on, if he does not sneak into he 1st round.

Weird question, could we draft both and then have thunder and lightning? Why not? Jeanty at 12, then I've seen many mocks where Hampton is there at 44 or whatever. Sounds nuts but look at the success the Lions have had using this formula. Let Rico be the 3rd rotational guy or just let him walk.

Honestly, I would look at trading down to around twenty. Pick the top DT on the board there. then in the second take a good hard look at the board and what is there and maybe trade down again; I would love to have three 2nd rd picks or 2 second rd and 2 third rd. Five picks in the top three rds would go a long way to fixing things here.

not arguing for or against drafting Jeanty at 12. But it's more than fans slobbering over this guy; the league is, too. And judging a player on one game is truly unfair. You know that. He looked bad in a bowl game where his team was throughly outmatched and the whole gameplan was stop Jeanty.

Hes a very skilled rb coming out of college and every indication is that he will be a great rb in the NFL.

that being said, I am in favor of drafting defense and going rb later. Or a trade down...but that's easier said than done.
