27- Byron Jones.I can't say I will be upset seeing as its a major need but this seems like a worst case scenario draft.

I really can't see anything on this post but, with reference to Byron Jones, I would be really happy with him as a selection in any round. JMO

Sorry guys, posting from my phone.can somebody correct the OP?

He has Andrus Peat, Ereck Flowers, Cam Irving, and Owa still on the board when we pick. I'd take Peat, Flowers, or Owa over Jones anyday.

If it worked out that way...I don't know who you would take over Jones...Not much left.

Don't think they take an Olinemen in the first again...Just do not see it at all.

I would be thrilled if it worked out that way. I really like Jones. I think he's a heck of a good CB prospect.

If they are really going BPA then those OTs should be higher than Jones.

If this team has those three olineman remotely close to the CB or OO...they will take the CB or OO over them.

That or they wait for a team to call them to trade up for one of those Olinemen.

It is rare for a team to go PURE BPA when they are stocked at the position and have other need position players with similar grades.

Their board would have to be completely wiped out of RBs, DBs, DE and DT....and they could not trade down before I think they would take another Online in the first round.

Olineman is way down their list of priorties this draft and that is obvious by the names of Olinemen they have visited with or have meetings with...all are lower round or later guys.

PURE BPA does not happen as much as people think. If it did they would have taken Shariff Floyd a few years ago no matter if he fit or not. If it did we would not have traded down and taken Frederick.

I watched him last night and while his athleticism is excellent, he is about as raw technique wise as I have ever seen a CB prospect. He doesn't look comfortable as he is always standing up and hitching in his stance. His transitions are spotty and he is not a very good or willing tackler. He run behind piles. I hate that.

I'd be very surprised if Perriman went in the top 10...and especially before Devante Parker.
Maybe not even in the top 25. Guess we'll see.

Yeah, terrible hand placement and he has no idea how to keep an OL out of his body. He does it by just leaning on them and physically overpowering them. Honestly, that makes it even more impressive to me. He has a good motor but he needs some real work. That's actually a plus IMO. One thing that I do believe Marinelli can do is teach young DLs how to play well with technique. If you have a motor, he can teach you the rest if you are willing to learn.

Edit,

Sorry Fuzzy, I was on the Danny Shelton train, riding along, never even knowing that I was headed in the wrong direction. All the while, I was just happy that the train had windows. My bad.

I think oyu are underestimating the impact of losing Parnell and Free being in his 30s. While I agree that BPA is overestimated particularly in the early rounds, I question a guy as raw as Jones with limited competitive tape is going to shoot up that high based on combine measurements. 4.30 and 4.04 is sweet I know but if he cannot backpedal consistently. . .

Peat would take over Parnells spot immediately and challenge free for the starting job. I trust Free more than Carr but not a whole bunch.

I don't get how people can look at his tape and say it matches his Combine.
Granted, his upside is enormous. But I think his measurables have blinded some people.
How does he go from a 4th rounder (or even later by some) pre-combine, then explode to the 1st round?
Though I do understand that a huge combine will get people to take a second look, it's not like he played in total obscurity. People had already seen his game tape.

I am not underestimating it...If anyone is it is the Cowboys...hence the reason they have only brought in late round or UDRFA players in at Olinemen positions.

Again this is not what I would or would not want. This is looking at who they have showed interest in and trying to calculate who they might take in the first couple of rounds.

TE, OL, WR and QB are not positions they have brought in as far as players rated with 1-2 round grades. (well they might argue Petty is a 2nd round grade but I doubt it).

Look at what THEY are looking at...not what WE want or are looking at.

I wouldn't go only by who they brought in this year, they didn't bring in guys who they thought won't make it to 27.peat is the top OT in many boards and I would take him.

I have watched what I can of him and I do think that he needs to be coached on proper technique but I also think that he has some things you can't teach. I would rather get him in the second round but I am not convinced that he will be there and because of that, I can see where you might take him in the first. I don't like how he makes that little shift just before the ball is snapped. I'm sure he does this to try and disguise what technique he is trying to play against a WR. He needs to polish that up. He can get away with that in college but in the NFL, the WR is going to be on him quicker and with more strength. I think it will get him burned. When I watch him play, he has excellent hand eye and really good ball skills. I actually wonder if he might not be a better FS then CB? I like him even if he needs technique work.

I don't think that there is any chance Flowers or Peat makes it to us frankly. They do plan their visits according to expectations and most people have those two in the teens. I also look at their roster and they have not brought in OL much at all this offseason. They resigned Free and some of their futures guys. They will be bringing some OL if for no other reason than to run a full practice with three squads.

I get what you are saying regarding what I want versus looking to them but I do look to them. They didn't bring in Claiborne or a bunch of corners they ear they traded up for him.
