I wouldn't go only by who they brought in this year, they didn't bring in guys who they thought won't make it to 27.peat is the top OT in many boards and I would take him.

They talked and or have brought in with Beasley, Fowler and Dupree.

I don't think they expect those guys to be there at 27.

Those OL will be much higher on all boards than Jones, IMHO. If this scenario plays out, my choice would be to trade down, which I can see Jerry and Co. doing. 100%.

Actually, my choice would be Flowers, but that aint likely to be the Cowboys' choice.

They were talking on the draft show and they said they could see someone like the Raiders wanting to trade up if a good Onlineman fell.

I imagine some other teams would be interested as well depending on what they did with their other first round pick(s).

Problems is then deciding if they can get compensation for the pick they would be comfortable with as well as only falling back far enough where they would be comfortable with.

As we all know...Jerry/Cowboys DO have a history of trading.

If they are really going BPA then those OTs should be higher than Jones.

In that scenario, I skip to the podium with a card reading "Ereck Flowers" and spend the rest of the day musing about the possibilities of a line featuring him and Tyron as bookends and Martin as his neighbor.

I don't think those OL last that long. There are too many OL needy teams picking early to mid rd 1. Perriman is not going top 10 and definitely not before Parker.

I wouldn't hate that.

I watched him last night and while his athleticism is excellent, he is about as raw technique wise as I have ever seen a CB prospect. He doesn't look comfortable as he is always standing up and hitching in his stance. His transitions are spotty and he is not a very good or willing tackler. He run behind piles. I hate that.

Out of curiosity, what film did you watch of him? On draftbreakdown.com they only have UCONN vs East Carolina and it is only the first half of the game!

Looked pretty good in that film, but nowhere near enough tape on him to make a judgement.

I think I'd want to stay above the Jets. I don't know why but I seem to have them pegged in my mind to take a RB at 2/5, and I'd want to stay in front of them if Gordon is on the board when we trade back. So like Oakland I'd think we're looking at something like getting back their 2nd, 4th and 5th to get me to move. Another question would be if a team like the Saints has a OLineman that they really like and want to get in front of the Colts to do it. The problem is I'm not sure values can come close enough to make that one work.

I don't see it. Not a fan of Jones. Looks and plays a lot like Claiborne.

If this team has those three olineman remotely close to the CB or OO...they will take the CB or OO over them.

That or they wait for a team to call them to trade up for one of those Olinemen.

It is rare for a team to go PURE BPA when they are stocked at the position and have other need position players with similar grades.

Their board would have to be completely wiped out of RBs, DBs, DE and DT....and they could not trade down before I think they would take another Online in the first round.

Olineman is way down their list of priorties this draft and that is obvious by the names of Olinemen they have visited with or have meetings with...all are lower round or later guys.

PURE BPA does not happen as much as people think. If it did they would have taken Shariff Floyd a few years ago no matter if he fit or not. If it did we would not have traded down and taken Frederick.

I think this is true!

Jones would probably see some time at FS if our top three CBs from last year are there and healthy....I wouldnt mind at all.

Just that and highlights. I get that it is only 25 or so snaps but he didn't look comfortable or well repped in his stance on that day in October.

Looking at their schedule I'd like to see the Boise State and Southern Florida games but I cannot find them.

If Kiper's predictions hold true, Eric Kendricks should be the pick at 27.
He will be the BPA for the defense at that selection and has the leadership skills.
He is a playmaker & will be an impact player for the defense. He has the college resume to back up his play.

Continue solidifying the defense with an imposing front 7 ~ drafting corners high should be the last piece of the puzzle.
If Owamagbe Odighizuma medically clears the folks at Valley Ranch, he also should have priority over Byron Jones at 27.

He would be a tremendous fit here as a zone CB. He is not a turn and run man cover guy but with what we tend to do... play off the ball he would be very good.
Guys aren't going to run past him and he can close in a real hurry.
The run play is a concern because he has ot do better there by a million miles.

All that said I'd probably take Owa here and look at Darby or Rowe in round 2.
