Anybody else here think that if the Cowboys were giving Elliott fewer carries, they'd be criticizing them for not using the player they spent the fourth overall pick on?

I know Zeke has gotten some big workloads this year (Bengals game excluded), but he's getting so many yards prior to contact behind this line he's probably not going to wear down.

I'm for it if we're ahead by 10 or more. Let Alf play. He's been nothing but solid with his chances. Especially down the stretch.

i agree that morris should be used. i wanted him in at the end of the green bay game, but aaron rodgers is on the other sideline. if we give him an opening the game could get tight quick. maybe coach doesnt trust defense yet.

I really think Kiper has gotten so bad over the years at projecting the draft that he's now resorted to ranking rookies after the fact.

Any rookie rankings that don't have Dak and Zeke at number 1 and 2 in some order is wrong. Simple as that.

In the NFL, people will always want to spread the love around. I think that is what you are seeing here.

to be fair, QB is generally regarded as more critical.
but why is zeke not at least #3?
who could they have put ahead of zeke beyond wentz and dak?

Well by that point they already know,

and morris being fresh might break one or do as good as E.

E needs to get the bulk, but they should use morris to rest him and finish some games.

I am all for resting Zeke when possible.
I am just thinking may be they wanted to crush the #1 rush defense beyond recognition...
I hope this does not keep repeating itself unnecessarily.

Zeke is completely changing the way team defends against Cowboys.
Conklin, probably 1st OT taken, may be a good OT, which is important but hardly game changing...

Exactly. Honestly if I was to rank the rookies, I'd have Zeke #1, Dak #2 and then whatever. I don't really pay attention to other teams rookies but I know they don't come close to our duo

Also before a bunch of people slam me for putting Zeke above Dak, I'll say that I really appreciate what Dak does for our team but Zeke just completely changes the dynamic

With the QB position I can see the justification.
If I had to choose between Zeke and Dak, I would have to choose Dak.
Dak's decision making is phenomenal.
Much better than Romo.
Probably where Brady beat out Romo.

Conklin is their RT. Kiper had him #3 overall originally so that fact with they guy playing well is the reason.

No I haven't and that's great, but I still don't think you can justify putting a RT above the incipient offensive ROY

I was nervous for most of the games until the final minutes. You know how quickly teams can score in this league and especially against our D. At least in the past. The coaches want a closer and it's him. Morris is a fine RB, but when he's in it looks like he's in slow motion compared to Zeke.

But giving the guy 22-24 carries a game is simply going to take its toll, and if not this season then next. NFL history has shown that guys getting 1,800+ yards are going to wear out.
