I missed it but they've been talking about it all day. Apparently Melly Mel was on this morning and said he's hearing Joe Mixon could be a surprise 1st round pick and Dalvin Cook could slide to the 2nd round.

Food for thought from our Draft God.

The Mixon thing would surprise me. That is so high profile on the first day. Don't think he makes it through the second, no way.

Dalvin Cook sliding into the second could happen if he makes it past Detroit's pick.

I'm chalking this up as a smokescreen.

Too much baggage on Mixon and I don't want to live in a world where McCaffrey is a 1st round pick and Cook isn't.

I'm pretty confident Joe Mixon is not going in the first round. The second round, yes. But not the first round.

I doubt very seriously Cook slides to the second round. Indy, Philly, the Giants, Jets, Panthers, Packers, Ravens, Jaguars, Commanders, Buccaneers, Lions, Seahawks, Chiefs, Browns and Saints all can use a back of his caliber.

That's too many teams to let Cook fall to the second round. And if he does fall in the first round, I think teams would be trying to make a deal to move up to get him, especially the Browns.

I heard a sound bite of Mel this morning and he said in terms of just ability, Mixon is better than Fournette and Cook.

Sirius has been saying that Cook disappointed and disappointed in a way that devalues him significantly. Mixon appears to be talented enough that teams are willing to overlook his incident.

I believe that Mixon was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school and teams pay attention to that.

You guys are overrating rbs.

Teams just don't value them like fans do.

Yeah. I know. That's why we took Zeke at 4th overall last year and Baltimore was trying to trade up to get him. Teams don't want them at all. I don't know why they just abandon the position altogether to prove how badly they disdain the position.

Which position group has had the fewest first rounders.... By far the last half decade? Which position gets the blunt end of free agency dollars and priority?

The truth shall set you free.

What exactly did past history have to do with Zeke? Nada. Zilch.

The league is like a pendulum swinging back and forth. It swings too far to one side and then comes back toward the middle. The Cowboys are having success in large part to teams gearing up to stop the pass.

This was refuted by Baltimore beat writers. In fact, I think Jerry himself later contradicted himself on this. He first claimed that Baltimore wanted Elliott and then later said something that refuted his own claim.

You mean like they also did in 2014? When we had a 3rd rounder for our RB?

And someone did a study showing we faced as many stacked boxes in 2015 as we did in 2014. The difference in results was the QB not the RB.

I still have a hard time believing the League will allow Mixon to go day 1. I usually don't tinfoil hat things but after La'el incident a few years ago I believe they keep everyone in line when they want.

Cook tested in the bottom 9th percentile as a SPARQ athlete. Not the be all and end all, but a huge red flag for a RB in the first round.

Right, that really hurts him since elusiveness is supposed to be his forte'.

Read on profootballtalk (I think) that Cook was accused of hitting a girl outside a bar sometime during his college career. Nothing came of the accusation and there was no video, unlike Mixon.

I can't see Mixon getting drafted. I just don't see it after that video, especially when you hear her side of the story and what transpired before the punch.

Philly can talk RBs all day but they really need to improve their OL and LBs and DBs.

Patriots will say otherwise. He is first round talent and they don't care about convicts only if they can play. Bill will rehab Mixon if necessary. Or show how good he is and then trade him to another team for a higher first rounder.
