Mel on Philly radio this morning

I missed it but they've been talking about it all day. Apparently Melly Mel was on this morning and said he's hearing Joe Mixon could be a surprise 1st round pick and Dalvin Cook could slide to the 2nd round.

Food for thought from our Draft God.
I call BS

Patriots will say otherwise. He is first round talent and they don't care about convicts only if they can play. Bill will rehab Mixon if necessary. Or show how good he is and then trade him to another team for a higher first rounder.
Patriots don't even have a first at this point.

You guys are overrating rbs.

Teams just don't value them like fans do.
Zeke went 4th and his play justified the pick. Three will go in the first round this year. The running game is coming back end voge. Teams highly value running back if it's the right running back.

Since teams "highly value running back" even the average running back in free agency must be getting big money like average players at other positions are getting paid. Right?

The league's Top 10 rushers last season doesn't support the notion of spending high resources on RBs.

Rushing Yds
1. Ezekiel Elliott • DAL 1631 (1st round - 4th overall)
2. Jordan Howard • CHI 1313 (5th rounder - #150 overall)

4. Jay Ajayi • MIA 1272 (5th rounder - #149 overall)
5. Le'Veon Bell • PIT 1268 (2nd rounder - #48 overall)
6. LeSean McCoy • BUF 1267 (3rd rounder - #53 overall)

The Pats don't have a 1st round pick. Are you anticipating the Pats trading back into the 1st round?

Garapolo is still in play. Would never underestimate or predict what Pats do or not do. Getting a first, especially late first is child's play for Bill.

What does me saying fans overrate rbs more than teams do have to dow ith Zeke? Nada. Zilch.

You mean like they also did in 2014? When we had a 3rd rounder for our RB?

And someone did a study showing we faced as many stacked boxes in 2015 as we did in 2014. The difference in results was the QB not the RB.

Man, you're really having a hard time letting this go.

Imagine, if we had drafted a CB last year and were marginally better on defense after a solid 7-9 season and missing the playoffs because we had no offense at all. How amazing would that have been! Think of the value!

We'd really be reaping the rewards of a somewhat better pass defense this year and ready to make our move to third place in the division!

Why exactly do you think we'd have gone 7-9? You think Zeke single handedly won us 6 games? I....don't.

Come on, you've got to be kidding me.

I understand your point. But surely, you can admit leading the NFL in rushing had a lot to do with our record last year.

Easily, they wore teams out and dominated in the 4th quarter with the best line and the best running back. Romo also helped Dak a lot.

Yeah, I get a chuckle out of the bitter Ramsey fans myself.

A good many people have this whole RB wrong.

Elliott had the talent. It was not picking a back just because you wanted to run more.

Even after seeing trash like Randle fail in 2015 and Elliott transform the offense, there is still this perception.

They had it wrong last year and they will be wrong again.

A back like Fournette is a special talent. I think Mixon could be. Cook has a chance to be like McCoy.

Elliott will probably change a lot of team's minds on the impact of a back.

I think that Mixon is the best back in the draft and McCaffrey is one of the best players.

McCaffrey is going to make a pretty good team dangerous. He's a bad fit for a team that does not have stability and relies on the run.

Used correctly, he is a weapon and not in the Lance Dunbar sense of things.

There were a few teams that I think wanted a player like him, but ended up signing a free agent (Woodhead to Baltimore; Burkhead to the Patriots).

Sirius has been saying that Cook disappointed and disappointed in a way that devalues him significantly. Mixon appears to be talented enough that teams are willing to overlook his incident.

I believe that Mixon was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school and teams pay attention to that.

Cook was a 5 star as well

I believe it will trend back to the run game if only because you can exploit teams that aren't prepared to stop a power run game anymore. It also puts less on your QB and we all know there aren't enough quality QBs to go around.

Elliott was one of the best picks this franchise has ever made.
