Melton ready

Cool helmet accessory, team captain, won a t-shirt contest -- what more could we ask? Can he cook?

Heard he won a wet tshirt contest too.

Here a pic for your collection...

Good grief. Must be nice to go from 20 snaps per week to team captain.

I'm mean seriously. What kind of message does this send. He was cut from the Jags and still had a contract. They, the powerhouse Jags, decided it was better to eat a couple mill a year for two years rather than have him on their team. San Fran signed him and never played him, then cut him/didn't resign him.

Now he's a captain for our team? What the frik is wrong with this team? Jimmy would have this guy on the asthma field and Red Ball has him as a team captain. It literally makes me want to vomit. This team is a shell of the team I grew up watching. I've hung in there, hoping Jerra would figure it out. But I honestly dont think it will happen. I hate to say it, because I love the game, and I've loved the Cowboys, but I'm at the edge of just dumping the whole thing.

Not 100% but I believe team captains are chosen by the players versus the head coach.

But yes, I do not understand what the problem is with this team and especially the culture when a player like Mincey can step in and get designated a leader.

But, yet--we need to appreciate what is being built here.

A team that has installed Jeremy Mincey as a captain.

It seems like every year there's one player on the roster who you have no rational explanation of why he's in the league.

I'm not talking camp bodies but regular season roster spots.

Nick Hayden is now that player.

Nick Hayden is here because of Josh Brent.

This also speaks volumes to how bad our talent evaluation still is.
