One potential replacement the #Cowboys are considering for DeMarco Murray? RB Melvin Gordon. Has a pre-draft visit to Dallas on the books.

Seen Gordon play?

He's not my favorite RB in the draft, but I wouldn't describe him as either "slow" or "plodding."

Gordon will be good, IMO. Deep draft for backs.

He may be. I saw some of his games up here. Just always had a problem with Wisconsin's style of 3 yards and a cloud of dust in the past and the RBs they produced seemed to not excel in the NFL. Gordon seems to have more talent than past guys though.

I just hope he is more then just a big play guy.

When I watch him his between the tackle work doesn't really impress me and he goes down pretty easy.

See above! It's not as much him...got to see plenty of him up here in Chicago...it's the type of back that Wisc. Produced in past and a majority of their guys don't translate in NFL. I know he is a different beast but still something in my head when I see "Wisconsin RB."......Ron Dayne highlights

He would be a great consolation prize for missing out on Gurley.

I like Gordon a whole lot. He is fantastic in the open field. Great vision.

I don't watch much B1G football at all, so I have no idea...

In comparing Gordon and Coleman, how much should I figure in the OLs they ran behind? Both guys ran for over 2000 yards and averaged 7.5 YPC. Wisconsin supposedly had a fantastic OL. Indiana, not so much. As it is, I like Coleman in round two a lot more than Gordon in round one. Someone want to sell me on the Wisconsin guy?

Guy is solidly on our draft board to have earned a visit to the ranch. History has shown this time and time again that we bring in guys who we want and plan to draft under the right conditions. And I don't think they would bother if he had only gotten a second round grade from them, as he won't be there then.

Well, with Gordon, the guy has fantastic run instincts and vision regardless of how much blocking he had. I just think with the lanes and creases he'd get in Dallas, he would be able to use his tools just like he did at Wisconsin. He has a real knack for finding the open field, which would serve him well in Dallas.

As for the OL... I'm not sure anyone can really tell how much they helped Gordon and Coleman. I do know that a lot of people who know football say Gordon is the best back ever from Wisconsin.

I haven't watched much of Coleman, so I'm kind of still keeping an open mind about him. I really do like Ajayi too though. He is really growing on me and I do like the physicality of his game as compared to Gordon.

Gurley is the guy, of course but I don't think he'll make it to 27, which is a shame.

I think 3 teams are legitimate threats to draft a RB in rd 1. San Diego(who is said to love Gordon), Arizona and Dallas. I think Gordon goes first due to his immediate availability.

Yep, I think Gordon goes to San Diego and if not them then Arizona.

Agreed. I don't think the Cowboys end up with Gordon. I think it plays out Gordon to SD at 17 then watch to see if Arz takes Gurley or if Gordon falls past SD I think Arz takes him and Gurley is sitting there at 27. This is of course based on current positions. Lots of moving could happen so we'll see how it plays out. Man I can't wait until draft night.

The Cardinals interest could drastically change if they get Peterson.

I'm guessing the Lions will be jumping on Gurley before the Cowboys can....

I was kind of hoping all the rbs would be available so the cowboys could take their pick of the top two if that was their game plan.

But ya, I could see the chargers, lions and cardinals ruining that for us.
