This has always been my fear with this team the coaching staff. They don't prepare and can't adjust during a game.
They can and do, but they didn't. I wonder if it was because they were playing an AFC contender, but I doubt it.

The DL has mediocre talent. Marinelli is an excellent defensive coach (not a genius defensive coach like Wade however) but even the best coaches need talent. There is not enough talent on the DLine. Maliek Collins being touted as Aaron Donald-lite is delusional. Collins is a decent talent (good pass rusher, average or worse run stopper) but he's not a game changer. Cowboys need a game changer on DL to take next step.

A good DL makes the LBs and Secondary better, just fact. A great DL forces turnovers and can win games if offense not pulling weight.
question for all to consider............did we have a team run on us like that when Hayden was the 1-tech?
Was he simply better at keeping 2 players off the LB'rs?....letting them flow to the ball

Lawrence was very good today and I thought Crawford was pretty good here and there. But it appears the DT's and the RDE were terrible against the run and Lee missed quite a few tackles today. Heath was terrible, Carroll struggled, I thought Lewis held his own even if you don't count the INT. Brown was okay. Jaylon didn't do much of anything.

But it starts in the middle, especially in a Marinelli 4-3.

Hayden wasn't on team last season when Cowboys were ranked high against the run. Hayden sucked.

Exactly. I always say we are too inbred within our system. We only hire people who have a connection to this team, played on this team, coached on this team, always a connection some where. Jerry never hires some new blood with new ideas, new people to think out of the box. Always the same.

Lawrence was the only bright spot on the DL. Rest of the line needs an upgrade, they were run on at will. Even ONE game changer added on the line would improve rest of the D.

Oh I agree that we need better talent on defense.

Not just the DL either.

Nobody cared about the Eagles loss last year.

The first Giants loss we had Dez run 23 go routes on 29 pass play snaps. It wasn't working and they kept with that gameplan instead of adjusting. The playoff loss we decided to ignore EE at critical points, Garrett botched the clock management towards the end of the game and our defense looked completely confused.

Garrett/Linehan have a propensity for stubbornly sticking to offensive gameplans and having extremely questionable playcalling...particularly in our losses.

Where I blame the players is that we didn't tackle well today and Dez and Dak were not on the same page. But we stood no chance with the offensive playcalling today.

I don't really ask for much...all I ask for is us to get about 20 carries from EE a game which is only 5 carries per quarter. We are likely to run 60-65 plays a game and with just a measly 20 carries a game...we are still only running the ball about 40% of the time.

EE had 4 carries in the first half. And we were within a TD for most of the first half.

But, the geniuses running the show just abandoned the run for no good reason. The first hint that we might not be able to run the ball...we'll abandon it every time. We completely abandoned our bootleg game and then when we needed quick scores we started calling dink-n-dunk plays. That's just bad coaching any way you slice it.

21 years with very little success and no super bowl. There is a reason why and it is at the top. Just is what it is.
