What's the deal with this guy?

Yahoo has an article about him and it's filled with Paul Bunyan-esque stories of strength and whatnot.

Where is he projected to go?

Raw but talented, he'll go between 25-40 IMO. Feet to play LT but will start out on the right side, has alot to learn.

Menelik Watson - T - Seminoles
FSU OL coach Rick Trickett said T Menelik Watson is a Top 5 talent in the draft.
"He's a top five talent in the draft," Trickett said. "He's not going to be picked in the top five because he just hasn't played enough. If this kid had played high school ball and then two or three years of college it wouldn't be a contest." Wilson is very raw but has upside to become a quality player.

Watson is one of those guys I think about as the second player we would take if traded down, got an extra pick, then used the extra pick to move up from 47.
So maybe end up with Sly Williams and Watson .

His run blocking looks like trash but its mainly technique issues.

I'd take a chance.

I really like Watson and Armstead. I would take either in a trade back over Fluker. Both are very athletic and strong and all they need are alittle coaching in run blocking. Both are considered latre 1st early 2nd round picks.

I'm willing to pick him as my first player. Still not at 18, though. But in a trade down.

If he's there at 40 (and depending on who else is left on my board, obviously), I'm dealing with the fourth rounder to move up after him.

First round talent, huge upside, plays tackle. I think he's worth it.

If we get an extra rd2 pick I would go

Sly Williams
Terror armstead
Schwenke or swearinger

I'm really torn on this player. He's a good run blocker but his technique in pass blocking is horrible. He does a lot of stuff wrong. It's easy to say that he doesn't pass block well because of his technique and I'm certain that improved technique would certainly help him in this regard but the thing that worries me about him is that he is not quick and his lateral agility is not good. If you want a guy to play Tackle, then I think you have to start by the physical tools a player has and then work your way to other things. If they don't have those, then I'm not sure you can project them. I think I like Fluker better because I think that he will project better to Guard if he misses at Tackle. Fluker is much bigger and the numbers between the two are very close. If Fluker can cut weight, I would suspect that his numbers would improve and surpass Watson's. If they don't, then he's a more powerful option at Guard.

He will be a first round pick. Don't listen to the draft experts on here whom see a second round grade on the CBS website and automatically assume he will go in the second. This guy is a first rounder and a lot of people are going to be shocked and yelling reach when this guy goes top 20.

Do you take him over Warmack at 18?

I'm not a big fan.

I think we have a version of him on our roster in Parnell. Only Parnell has actually gained the years of experience and NFL strength.

I heard the same type of stories going into the combine - about how he'd perform very well there and was such an excellent athlete.

Well that was a flop.

If the tape is good though, maybe consider him in the 2nd. I don't think he'll be taken in the first round.

Yes, I do........for this team YES. Reason being because he can start at RG, or RT from day one, and he can play anywhere along the line other than center. This guy is physical, with those long arms, GREAT quickness, blocks defenders 10 yards off the ball, and can peel of a double team and hit the moving LB better than almost any lineman in the draft, and he might be the best. I love this guy and would love the pick.

People need to go look at film on this guy. It's hard to find more than 2 bad plays a game by him and it's easy to see why I'm so high on him.

I agree with u. I think he'll be the fourth or fifth OT taken and it will be a top 40 pick for sure likely top 25.
