Something's up. The Americans are almost perfect. Seriously the announcers are going nuts and I don't notice any problems and the best they can get is in the high 15s.

The Chinese come in and clearly screw up left and right, sometimes even stepping out of bounds on their landings, and they get in the mid 16s easily.

the dude didn't even stick the landing and he got into the 16's.

It might have something to do with the difficulty though.

and the Chinese routine was like the hardest in the world. no fixing.

I honestly have no idea how we fell behind the Japanese, but the Chinese were awesome.

Didn't an American get a 12 on pommel horse? CBC was showing the Chinese team kick *** so I didn't see that 12 but if you get that bad, you fall behind.

Yeah, the American guy pretty much stopped completely on the pommel horse. I don't know much about gymnastics but even I know that's bad.

Our final guy kicked butt on it though and iced the bronze!

Good showing all in all.

The Chinese clearly deserved the Gold... they were awesome and it was obvious to see their routines were super tough.

I agree. I'm proud the US was able to achieve the bronze which was unexpected but China was performing much harder routines so even when they have a mis-step the score was still going to be higher than avg. Plain and Simple China is the best in gymnastics in the world

If a 12 year old can beat a 20 year old's butt, then so be it. It should be the best versus the best... and if one of your best is 14 years old, all the better for her.

If these girls really are only 14 or whatever, then I'm amazed at their poise and their ability to compete at this level. The "older" girls should be able to best them on experience and maturity alone.

Now I do agree that the rules should be the same for everyone, but I'm surprised that such youth would be considered such an advantage.

Greater age = less flexibility

and they're also trying to discourage countries from pushing really young kids into competing in the Olympics.

I'd rather have a less successful yet less intense? (you know what I mean) team any day.

The American women were tiny as hell but at least they had women's bodies. I know a few guys drooling over Alicia, the one who choked. They wanted to console her.

The girls in my son's preschool were more developed than the Chinese "women" gymnasts.

I'm surprsied more ppl aren't yelling about those Chinese 13 yo parading around as 16 yos! Everybody knows they're cheating yet no one will more than whisper about it. Go figure.

I am sure we will hear more about China cheating once the games are done. No one wants to risk retribution.
