I don't tihnk they would give him for much less than that, maybe im wrong since they do have zero leverage and in that case remove the 2nd, and change Butler to Spencer and we got a bargain.

We add Merriman and then he will be much more of a threat than Spencer, and I have to believe Merriman would've had that interception that Spencer missed vs Denver.


Merriman will be a huge asset to our Defense, and possibly the key that changes our team from 8-8 to a 10-6 or 11-5 season.

Merriman...8 tackles...no sacks...no forced fumbles...no passes defensed

Spencer has played FAR better than he has this yr, and doesnt have major knee issues.

Time to quit drinking the Merriman kool-aid, guy hasnt been significant since the day he got busted for roids. He doesnt play the same nor does he look the same. He looks slow and lethargic on the field.

I would very cautious about giving up anything of major value for the guy. Lets face it, the dude was a freak of nature when he was all roided up. Once the guy got clean, his play went in the tank. Plus, he is coming off a major knee injury, I think he tore 2 of the 3 ligaments. That right there is a major flag for me.

A 3rd and a 5th is the max I offer the Chargers.

Why do people think that Merriman got clean? He stopped using the steroids that the NFL tests for. That doesn't mean he stopped using performance enhancing drugs. There are plenty of things that the NFL can't test for and players use. His knee problems are his biggest issue and a major issue at that. Next is his commitment to playing football.

Didn't Wade coach Merriman and pretty much help draft him?

Next year IS uncapped..soo..you could sign both Ware and Merriman.

Just the thought of this makes me giddy.

unless they uncap the steroid rule he will be useless
